No Empathy
I received a call from this doctor this morning about my mother's condition. As I attempted to explain her ability to understand, all I received was snarky responses as "all I am doing is calling as a courtesy to let you know the situation". I attempted to let him know that I am aware of her situation and explain that my mother assists in making decisions about her care. I tried to let him know that she is very hard of hearing, but that she is fully capable of understanding what she is being told. It seemed like all he wanted to do was end the call and not listen to what I was telling him. All the other doctors that I have communicated with were understanding and willing to listen to my concerns. It seemed to me that he felt that he knew more about my mother after meeting her once or twice than I do after knowing her my entire life. Good luck getting a good feeling from speaking with this doctor.
