Excellent communicator. I agree with the above reviewer. He answered all our questions prior to us asking. Staff goes over and beyond to make you feel as comfortable as possible in the awful situation that you are in with a kidney mass. He squeezed us in on a surgery day for our initial consultation. As an RN, I was aware of his long, tedious day but his demeanor never let on. I am so disappointed that the two reviews above ( likely same patient) could taint this fine physicians score. As an RN, nurses and physicians tolerate much more than yells and such esp after surgery or in light of bad news. The above two negative reviews very likely do not tell the real story about that patients behavior. It had to be really awful for physician intervention, esp from Dr. Kenney.

My dad was dying of bladder cancer, and consulted Dr. Kenney as a last resort. After exploratory surgery, my dad was in pain in recovery room and verbally lashed out at a nurse. Kenney proceeded to berate him for his temper, while informing him he would die soon. He knew my mom wouldn't yell back because Kenney might make my dad's stay at Yale even worse. Kenney's an arrogant, passive-aggressive horror who has no business calling himself a doctor. He had the nerve to say "God bless you." Awful.

Dr. Kenney was exceedingly unkind to my husband, who was dying of bladder cancer and came to Kenney as a last resort. My husband was in extreme pain after exploratory surgery performed by Kenney; after he was moved to a hospital room, he called out to nurses for help, then called me at home to come immediately as he was sure he would be dead in minutes. When I arrived, Kenney came in and berated my husband about his behavior. Kenney's manner is supercilious, smug, callous, and cruel. Horrible.
