Fistula Repair
I came to Dr. Sylla for a second opinion for an anal fistula and it was the best decision I ever made. There are several types of surgeries for fistula repair, and not a lot of information online, so it's incredibly important to find the right surgeon. Dr. Sylla specializes in the anorectal advancement flap repair, which requires 2 surgeries, but it's worth it as she's an expert. As a 30 year old woman, I am beyond grateful for finding Dr. Sylla as I am one year post op without any sign of recurrence and an extremely minimal scar. Highly recommend!

Extraordinary surgeon
I was given bleak options by surgeons at home, who said surgery would leave me with a colostomy bag, and sought a second opinion from Dr. Sylla. Dr. Sylla believed she could remove the entire tumor without leaving me with a bag, which is precisely (and I do mean "precisely") what she did (confirmed by the pathology report). I am fortunate and eternally grateful to Dr. Sylla. In the unfortunate circumstance anyone reading this needs or knows of anyone needing a colorectal surgeon, it is worth going out of your way to be seen by Dr. Sylla.

Dr. Sylla is an outstanding clinician. She evaluates each patient as a unique individual. Because of her skill and intelligence, I was able to care for my husband three months after my surgery when he had sudden quadruple bypass surgery. Dr. Sylla is a blessing to her patients.

I had hemorroidectomy surgery just two weeks ago. I put the surgery off for years because EVERY SINGLE DOCTOR I EVER VISITED told me it was going to be an excruciating recovery. Now that I've done the surgery with Dr Sylla, I can honestly say the pain wasn't nearly as bad as I was warned it would be. I didn't need strong painkillers post surgery - only Motrin and the great news is I have NO MORE disgusting uncomfortable bleeding dhemorrhoids. YUK! I cannot believe it took me this long to do the surgery. I suffered with chronic hemorrhoids for far too many years because I was afraid of the surgery. I loved Dr Sylla. Her skill, warmth and chipper bedside manner are reassuring and uncommon! An esteemed DR that I admire tremendously recommended Dr.. Sylla to me and I'm grateful she did. This surgery improved my life so much! Within 8 days I was walking and managing most daily tasks without much discomfort. It's 2 weeks and I'm exponentially better and so relieved it's "behind" me!

I had an outstanding experience with Dr. Sylla. A true professional. A “doctors” doctor. She was recommended by another physician at Mt. Sinai who said I would recommend her to anyone in my family. I echo that recommendation! I’m only sorry I didn’t find her sooner so that two other members of my family could have had the benefit of her as their surgeon.

Dr. Sylla saved me. I was diagnosed with diverticulitis by another doctor & it was all downhill from there. I had 4 failed surgeries & spent 31 days in the hospital. Another doctor referred me to Dr. Sylla & told me if anyone could help me, it was her. He was right. Dr. Sylla is beyond knowledgeable about her practice. She performed two surgeries on me & both went perfectly. That was a year & a half ago. I trust Dr. Sylla with my life & every member of my family's.

Dr. Sylla is the rudest, most inhuman, and heartless practitioner I've ever encountered, not only I do not recommend anyone to step in her office, I don't think she should be practicing medicine. Furthermore, I was misdiagnosed, mistreated, and disrespected during the whole procedure.

After a failed hemorrhoidectomy I came back to discuss what other options were available. My issue is worse than before such painful surgery and Dr. Sylla could not care less. She didn't even give me a chance to take my pants off bursting into the room asking yeah, what do you want? As if I was bothering her. Then she says there's nothing more that can be done, I tell her I read that laser therapy is an option and all she said was I dont do lasers. Yes but it is an option you shouldve given.

With enormous gratitude, that I highly recommend Dr. Patricia Sylla, as a colon and rectal surgeon. She is quite frankly one of the finest doctors, I have ever met. Dr. Sylla is a true medical professional in the full sense of the word. I had a very complicated condition. Dr. Sylla met with me and my wife, explained my condition in a warm and professional manner and presented her recommendation. As a result of Dr Sylla's surgery and post operative care, I am living a very full and happy life.

Dr. Sylla performed a complex surgery on me 3 weeks ago that very few surgeons in the world would be able to do. She is a very skilled and highly trained surgeon. She is also a very nice person who is kind and compassionate. Dr. Sylla and her staff made me feel at ease. Dr. Sylla is a thought leader in her field and is an excellent surgeon. I am very pleased with the outcome of my surgery and fast recovery. I feel very fortunate that Dr. Sylla was my surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Sylla.

A great experience from my first call to make an appointment with her assistant Natalie, who was very helpful, to the staff at the practice office when I got there for my appointment; very professional and pleasant. Dr Sylla is very personable and knowledgeable. She listens well and explains also very well. She has confidence and poise and a good sense of humor. I also clearly perceived that she cares about her patients.
