Avoid Dr. Antero!
Dr. Antero performed surgery on my foot, and it was a disaster. She excessively shortened my bone (first metatarsal), and the head of the bone was not properly placed into its joint (causing poor range of motion). Dr. Antero insisted that my surgery went well, but I kept peppering her with questions, because my foot just didn't seem to be okay -- I went from having a foot with a very minor problem, to having a foot that was so bad, that I couldn't walk around the block without wearing inserts in my shoes. Before surgery, I participated in high-demand athletics, but after Dr. Antero performed surgery on me, I couldn't walk around the block without wearing inserts in my shoes. I've had a revision surgery ($16,000 out of pocket), but my foot will never be the same. As if all that's not bad enough, Dr. Antero didn't even tell me that I qualified for a better, less invasive surgery option, because she wasn't trained to perform that surgery. Dr. Antero put money before my well-being.
