Be Aware of the Billing
I want to make it clear, my review is about the billing department, not Dr. Sharma or Dr. M. Both of whom are 5 star doctors and two of the best in Cookeville. In 2024 I had 100% medical coverage, even the front of my medical card had zero co-pay zero deductible. However on at least 3 occasions the billing department filed my bill incorrectly with UHC. I went in chat with UHC and they sent confirmation that the billing department filed the bill incorrectly, likely using incorrect billing codes. Three times in 2024 the billing department sent me a bill saying I had a co-pay. Two of them Dr. Sharma told the billing manager to clear off. However this last time it was not. Dr. Sharma explained he would look into it and I fully believe he did, however the billing managed started to increase the nag's via text and email and messages, then I got a bill in the mail. I paid it even though I did not owe it because by now I realized the billing manager was intent to prove their point in the face

GOOD JOB TO ALL
First time visit saw NP, TF. Very thorough! All staff were great. Thanks to Ashley for sending my order so quickly. Staff worked together as a team which is so important in patient care. Very welcoming office although clock on wall needs to show current time so as not to confuse the patients.

I have seen him twice as a general practitioner/PCP, after my previous PCP closed his practice. Both visits were short and to the point. Second visit, I think I saw him for all of 5 minutes, after spending half an hour in the waiting room, but he billed for a 40 minute visit. He'd also ordered hundreds of dollars worth of blood tests, which he never explained; apparently that's "standard" every 6 months. He may be great as a diabetes/kidney specialist, but I can't afford him for a PCP.

Dr. Sharma and his entire staff were so helpful to me, as it was my first time going to a Diabetes Specialist and I was a little nervous and not sure about having to take insulin. They were great working with my hectic schedule and Dr. Sharma is so good at explaining everything to me. A GREAT DOCTOR!!! Thanks so much!

Highly recommend Dr. Sharma. Very knowledgeable about your situation. Bad reviews are most likely from people who don't take care of their diabetes. He can't cure stupid. It's a treatable disease. It's up to you not him. He's been a life saver for me. I've recommended him to several and they love him!

Never again! I was referred to this doctor because I have diabetes. I went 4-5 times. Then I had no diabetic test strips to check my blood. Both I and the pharmacy called/faxed him for over a week trying to get some strips called in. Took him 10 days! I couldn’t check my blood, couldn’t take my insulin because I didn’t know where my blood stood. Ridiculous! I’m done with him!

Very unlikely - my records were transferred there when my previous physician closed their office. I had 1 visit - they drew blood send me for testing and I never heard from them again until 6 months later telling me I was due for another appointment! I sent a request for my medical records to be transferred to another physician and mailed the request certified, followed up today by stopping in Sharma's office and they looked at me like they had no idea! MAY be a good physician but his staff NOT

Nice man but does not handle geriatric diabetes situations with any degree of expertise. His recommendation to see a podiatrist for a foot ulcer had tragic results.
