Great experience!
Of course going in for an EMG test can make someone anxious I was put at ease by his receptionist The doctor was with another patient when I arrived for my appointment the doctor himself came over to me and apologized saying he might be ten minutes delayed and the delay was less than ten minutes The doctor did a a consultation and examination I was then sent down to another area for the first part of the test and at conclusion the doctor himself came to do the second part assuring me it would be quick and put me at ease Very kind doctor in general the whole experience was very good would definitely recommend Dr Pavlakis!

Wait time
Got there on time, was put in a room and waited 90 minutes for him. He never showed up. Got dressed and told receptionist I had to leave. She said he was in the cafeteria. Unfortunate, because it is a good hospital. I never returned.

Hard to believe how knowingly disregardful he is of a patient's pain and even after stating what medications are used to relieve pain he refuses to prescribe the targeted medication, leaving the patient in pain. He told me he'd place an order in my record to see a specialist who treats my condition. At HSS, it is a requirement to see another doctor to have a referral. I tried to make an appointment with a specialist, and the wait is long enough (3 months), but Dr. Pavlakis, neglected to place a referral in my record and for this reason, I was unable to make an appointment. I called and sent messages. He ignored all of them. He does testing without the patient's knowledge or consent. He told me he would be inserting needles and that I would be sore, but then called someone in to shoot electrical current into my feet and legs, when I cannot tolerate electrical stimulation and would never have agreed. He refuses to name the person who did the test. Terrible experience.

Dr Pavlakis is extremely thorough and thoughtful. He is an attentive and truly caring physician. I am beyond fortunate to be under his care. I am also impressed with his type of methodical thinking that helps check out all the boxes but also goes out of any ‘box.’ I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Pavlakis!
