The BEST you’ll ever find!
My precious baby boy & I were just discharged 6/12/22 from Woman’s Hospital. My doctor/surgeon was Dr. Pamela Simmons. I was referred to her because I found out I had placenta Accreta. On my very first visit she was VERY thorough about what accreta actually is and every single risk that comes with it. She went through the entire procedure with my husband and I to make sure we understood every single little detail and any questions we had. I was extremely scared, but the way she showed she cared was just different from any doctor I’ve ever had. She showed so much compassion! From that very first visit to our last day at the hospital. She checked up on me personally which is something EXTREMELY hard to find that a doctor does! I had absolutely no complications during my delivery(c-section) and hysterectomy. She and her team had my and my baby boy’s lives in their hands and they rocked that OR! I can’t thank each and every one of them enough for preforming this miracle!??????

Love her!
I saw Dr. Simmons for an ECV after finding out my baby was breech. My case was slightly complicated after going into early labor. ECV is somewhat of a controversial procedure due to usually only having ~50% success rate and can be risky for mom and baby. She was so reassuring and made us feel so much better. She was a rockstar during the procedure- loved her confidence and expertise! Everything went well, she flipped the baby head down while my husband and I watched! I delivered a healthy boy less than 24h later. She even came to see us the next day. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Dr. Simmons is a gift to Baton Rouge! She has the unique ability to connect with her patients & instantly they feel comfortable. I have learned several of my friends have been patients of hers & every one has felt the same way. The time she takes to explain every aspect of treatment is one thing that stood out for me. It’s hard not to blame yourself when diagnosed with gestational diabetes the 1st time & a little harder the 2nd time especially knowing you can’t control it. She helped me understand what was actually happening verses “take this it will help”. In one of our last visits I asked if she would come & hold a baby after I delivered. Knowing she had a busy schedule along with other MFM patients, I really didn’t think she would be able to make it. Well, she did come to meet her little patient. It speaks volumes about her character & love for her work! I speak wholeheartedly; if you are in need of a maternal fetal medicine doctor, feel confident you are in the absolute best care!

Dr Simmons literally saved my life. She was my primary MFM consult during my pregnancy with placenta percreta. She was extremely knowledgeable and thorough with our care. She went out of her way to educate myself and my husband on the condition, complications that can arise, plan of care and surgery plan. She was open and patient with all of our questions. She gave a personal care that was very important to us during the difficult and scary time that was a high risk pregnancy. I cannot say enough good things about her and her services as my doctor.
