I refuse to see Dr. Gault
I was not going to write a review on Dr. Gault & just leave as is. Today, after reading all the reviews, I can relate to many. I felt that I needed to write this review to help others in deciding which doctor to choose for their care. The reviews are helpful to me & I found a dr I’m going to check out. I hope this review will help you in deciding on a doctor. After all, the choice is ours. Many years ago, I was going to Dr. Gault because of my thyroid. As many have stated, she does not listen to her patients. I don’t recall if she was rude to me. However, I do recall she did not listen, rebuked whatever I said, made me feel like she didn’t care, and that I was dumb. One example, I told her I was allergic to the medication and she said it was impossible as it is “natural”. Turns out, I was. We are all different and people can be allergic to “natural” things like peanuts, pollen, fruits, etc. I stopped going to her. Now, my dr wants me to go endo again. I refuse to go back to her.

The worst
The most rude and uncaring doctor I have ever been too. Literally told me I sounded angry and resentful with doctors because I wanted to be heard. I was told she couldn’t do anything for me, even though she is an endo and it says metabolism specialist. She suggested I go on a plant based diet because that is what she is on. Literally was in tears in her office and in the car driving home. I have never felt so degraded in my life. The front office was very nice though.

Do Not Recommend
She can be very close minded and does not seem to respond well to patients doing their own research or advocating for themselves, in general. She can become unprofessional when you do not agree with her beliefs.

Great care!
Dr Gault first appointment was very strong and assertive when it came to my care. It was because she really cared. She does a good job making me feel important and educating me to stay on top of my health because I’m pregnant and general overall. I am an African American women and sometimes it’s hard to get good care. I had issues with prescription medication and she and her staff got on top of it. She always does a good job of ensuring me my health is important to her. I never felt neglected if anything I leave every visit feeling more confident about the care I am receiving.

Insensitive and not helpful
This doctor put my wife through so much stress, my wife had to fight to get this doctor to help her with looking more into symptoms and possible conditions. My wife was referred to Endo and Dr. Gault asked why she was there and essentially said there was nothing she could help her with. My wife had to bluntly ask why this doctor didn’t want to help her and asked for blood work to be done. How unfortunate is it to have a provider who is perhaps biased or uncaring. We are switching to an entirely different health system.

Dr. Gault is friendly and professional. Her office staff has serious short comings, as there’s at least a couple Of rude ones, including the lady at the front desk (Greer). The office cancelled an appointment that I had without letting me know. I have 3 phone numbers and 2 emails I can be reached at, but the office claimed they sent me a letter, which I never received. When I arrived for the appointment that, unknown to me, had been canceled, the lady at the front desk didn’t even care.

Highly recommend. She diagnosed me with having thyroid cancer after having been "treated" by another endocrinologist who tole me everything was fine just a week previously. I have to have a complete thyroidectomy. I feel that Dr. Gault may have saved my life. she is very professional and thorough. Did an exam, ultrasound and biopsy all in one visit. Called me with biopsy results in less than a week.

If you are a patient that likes to take charge of your health and do your own research then this is NOT the doctor for you. She did not like the fact that I had done my research and when I asked about switching from Synthroid to WP Thyroid she shut me down. After a long debate she agreed, but told me that I would not be able to afford the medication. I was paying $35 for Synthroid with insurance and I purchased WP Thyroid for $20 without insurance. She lied to me, which I do not appreciate.

After having me do bloodwork twice to confirm high hormone levels and making me have an MRI (which almost didn't happen bc her staff failed to submit it to insurance), I visited her for a follow-up to discuss treatment. She tells me that she wants more bloodwork before starting me on meds for a pituitary tumor the MRI had found. when I told her no, that i needed to start meds now, she got ill. She also told me it as no big deal and degraded me when i asked if it could be causing migraines.

Saw her a couple of times when I was told by my primary doctor that my thyroid levels were off and I had hyperthyroidism. There is a long back story to why I was sick, but basically I had been exposed to black toxic mold that was airborne for 2 years. I mentioned this to her and she said she had never heard of it and blew it off. She didn't even see interested into looking into it. She was very abrupt and insensitive.

Diagnosed me with Hoshimotos and acted as though I was making up my symptoms as she could clearly see that I have an auto immune disorder! Only change in Meds was to prescribe the BRAND NAME drug that I've been taking for 5 years with no improvement. Very disappointed with appointment and hopefully will find another doctor

Dr. Gault was the most insensitive and rude doctor I've ever been to. I felt horrible; no energy, brain fog, etc. She told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with me saying, If I polled my waiting room, over 1/2 of the people out there would have the same symptoms as you. After seeing a different endocrinologist (Greenville), I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency, low testosterone, and was basically a hormonal wreck. I don't know why she is in this business!
