Dr. Olen Giles, MD

I have Gerd and recurring colon polyps. Dr Giles and his staff have always taken excellent care of me for many years . I trust him and feel comfortable with his recommendations. Their in house surgery facilities are also comfortable and clean.

I have been seeing Dr Giles for over 15 years and have always found him pleasant answers all my questions and listens.

I've been satisfied with Dr Giles and the staff. My complaint is with the billing. Dr Giles office is across the hall where the colonoscopy is done. Humana Would not pay for the total procedure because the rooms were out of their network. Dr Giles is in network, but not across the hall where the procedure was done. And I was not told of extra charges at the time of scheduling. Never happened before. I will be diligent about choosing a Dr in the future.

I am a 2 time liver transplant survivor. Dr. Giles is supposed to be my local GI doc. He has done my routine endoscopes and is supposed to help me when I have GI issues. I am having GI problems which after a transplant could be very serious. Dr. Giles office would not schedule me for 2 months. I called the office manager and they offered me a 2 week appt. If I am having a GI bleed I would be dead by then. I don't need a Dr. when I'm healthy just to give me a colonoscopy. I need a Dr who is there for me when I am sick. Dr Giles is not that Dr. He obviously does not take my illness seriously. I understand he can't make money actually practicing medicine. So he must focus his time on endoscopes and colonoscopies. My case may be too much for him to handle. I called a real Dr. who will see me in 2 days.

Dr. Giles is very professional in his practice and very involved with his patients. He reviews every detail of your examination. Very informative and detailed. The entire staff during my procedure was also very professional and meticulous with the explanation of processes and their involvement.

Dr Giles was very patient and informative with me when I saw him last year. He took the time to listen to all my symptoms and was through the exam as well to give me guidance on what needs to happen.

I have been seeing Dr Giles for at least 15 years. He has done many colonoscopies on my Hubby and I (we have the pre cancerous polpys.) and we both love him. We trust him with everything. I highly recommend him.

Had a procedure done in February 2016 that was supposed to be covered at 100%. I am still being billed for this colonoscopy. (I was covered under my husband's health insurance which was Aetna. He had a very good plan and worked for a major defense company in the Orlando area). Both Dr Gile's and Longwood Anesthesiology are HORRIBLE when it comes to proper billing procedures. Please look elsewhere for a different Doctor. Just received yet another bill today (9-12-16) .

Doesn't listen. Saw him years ago thought his poor doctor/patient communication may have been due to a bad day. Nope, he's kind of rude.

Dr.Giles took the time to explain the colonscopy procedure to me, Very nice, gentle man. My husband used him about 5 years ago.
