Great experience at the hospital.
My g’daughter broke her elbow in 2 places and displaced her humerus. She needed emergency surgery at 4AM. He was waiting for our arrival as we had to drive over 2 hours to get to Asheville. He was caring, knowledgeable and when he spoke to her dad he laid it all out in a simple & straight manner. He let him know surgery was a necessity. Our return visit to get cast off & pins out is July 12th . I highly recommend his surgical expertise if ever needed.

Dr. Raustol is absolutely awesome. He has been wonderful with my grandson. Dr. Raustol is very thorough and encourages second opinions before he does surgeries. He explains what is going on and what is needed. What's really amazing about Dr. Raustol is that he talks to the child about the child's interest and let him know about what he is doing as he does the exam. Dr. Raustol is very highly recommended. We are lucky to have such a wonderful caring doctor in our area. Thank you Dr. Raustol!

We were referred to Dr. Raustol for scoliosis. He recommended to just monitor based on expected remaining growth. The scoliosis has worsened and we recently got a second opinion. A year later growth is completed and options are limited. Indeed the degree of the curve increased 7% as well as an additional curve forming. I feel like he was passive and shrugged it off instead of taking a proactive approach. The practice that performed our last evaluation was much more thorough. Be cautious!!

Our daughter Amanda has rare genetic syndrome and had her growth plate removed by him. He was great. Patient and understanding. He waited until the perfect time to remove it with her growing. I will recommend him to anyone. He will explain and listen to your concerns also.

He is an excellent doctor but was very rude to my husband and I. Our son broke his leg and the entire office there was rude to my husband and I as well. I guess it's because we're poor. I hope we never have to go back there.

I have four kids all of whom are athletic and very active. Unfortunately, they have each had broken bones. He was wonderful with their treatment. My daughter has a medical condition that causes her to suffer from multiple breaks in her spine. He was the one who caught the condition and referred us out to the doctors who are now helping to treat the condition. He and his staff are helpful, friendly, and have gone above and beyond to ensure that I am informed and that I understand her care.

My son broke both of his legs in a motocross accident and we were from out of town. Dr. Raustal had a deep level of concern every step of the way. He is genuinely concerned about the right and accurate outcome- not taking an easy approach with the surgery he was phenomenal. We were so thankful for him we continued to make the 3 hr drive one way to see him for all the follow up visits- great surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner.
