PRECISE
Dr.Metitiri is truly a gifted professional. I have horrible anxiety, and he was patient with me, even kept my best friend in the loop. Extremely knowledgeable, and dainty with his work. Not only was my wrist displaced, but he also picked up on the damages to the nerves, and was very tentative. 8 screws with a plate, & I doubt I’ll even have a scar when I’m all healed. I thank him so much!

Recommended Unnecessary Diagnostics and Surgery
Very disappointing experience. The office nurse pressured me into having an x-ray before my visit. When I requested to be evaluated by the doctor first to see if an x-ray was even necessary, she told me I would lose my appointment spot and might have to wait up to 2 hours. So I did the x-ray and he literally did not even look at it and did not need it. My insurance was billed $1000 and I was stuck with a large co-pay on an unnecessary procedure. When I told the doctor I came to see him about two issues, he abruptly told me he only had time to listen to and address one complaint. Based on an outside testing report I brought in, he recommended carpal tunnel surgery and told me I must schedule it within a month or he would require a brand new pre-surgical consult and re-testing. He did not recommend any other alternative or more conservative treatment approaches, and he did not ask about my other health history. I rejected his advice and FULLY healed all of my symptoms without surgery.

If bedside manner is important...
Very knowledgeable in his field but also rude and beyond dismissive. Dr Metitiri was outwardly agitated that we had questions prior to my sons scheduled procedure. We spent about 10 minutes talking before my sons surgery and he let us know this ate into his time a little too much for his liking. These questions were important for us and also a concern from my sons pediatrician. Dr Metitiri then questioned my pediatricians knowledge and also said if I felt the need to question him that I should leave and get another opinion. So that is what I did, I left. Then he called about 5 minutes later to say that we should both cool off and was still willing to do my sons surgery. Rude, discourteous, and disrespectful.

Didn't explain things well, was a little condescending, and when asked questions he seemed defensive. Also pulled out a wrist brace and cut it before I said I would buy in the drug store. Was charged $180 for the wrist brace.

Broken wrist
I went to him October 2021 with a broken wrist, provided x rays from Caremount. said I had a lot arthritis. so I said PT, he said no and no follow up appointment. It is August 2022 and it is still broke… After much pt and steroid shots it looks like surgery with a new hand and wrist Ortho.

Very Happy
I fractured my wrist on April 22, 2022 and went to the ER in Mount Kisco. Followed up with Dr. Metitiri and was very impressed with his care. He was professional, knowledgeable and conservative with his plan for my wrist. I would highly recommend him.

Terrible experience. No bedside manner, but worse than that, didn’t help my issue. Told me he was doing a specific procedure only to wake up and find out he did some other procedure that had never been discussed with me. Follow up care was awful. He kept saying I improved. He can write whatever in his notes, but I told him nothing had improved. Never again. I’d never let anyone I know use him as a surgeon.

I recently had three surgical procedures performed by Dr. Metitiri. I’m impressed with the attention I received during the consult, the care just prior to the surgery and immediate relief after the surgery. I found this Dr highly skilled and surrounded by a dedicated team of professionals, to include the clerical staff that managed all of my disability paperwork.

I have had 2 appointments with Dr. Metitiri and found him to be a good listener, patient, and detailed in his responses to all my questions. His nurse also had a big smile, and the follow up on each piece pre-surgery has been fantastic. The nurse called to make sure I have full disclosure on all costs and my insurance coverage. They even called in my pain script the day before so I can be prepared and just go home and rest tomorrow.

very tough to get your concerns answered by his nurse. Not caring and when pointed this out to her the next day she calls finally answering my concern only to have the Dr also call to lecture me how hard his nurse is working and if I am not satisfied I can find a new Dr.
