Dr. Norman Toth, DO

Norman Toth should not be allowed to work with anyone with mental health needs, least of all Veterans. This man made it his personal mission to prove my husband is not disabled from his time in the service instead of actually helping him. He ignored everything my husband wants to work on with his PTSD and said he just needs to go back to work because “he’s too young not to work.” The man also for some reason felt the need to bring up in one of his sessions with my husband that our child is “not smarter than a dog” and “raising children is easy.” He also likes to bring up his divorce and ex-wife a lot too. Can’t imagine how those would be related.

I have never had an encounter with a Doctor as arrogant, dismissive, and disrespectful as Dr. Toth. I don’t even have words to describe how bad his attitude is. He was late for our very first visit, and when he finally met with me he simply looked at me and said “What do you want?”, he then looked at his watch and asked me again “What do you want?”, like I was bothering him. He is the epitome of the bad stories you hear about VA healthcare. On our next visit he was late again, and after calling multiple times and talking to people who worked at the VA I gave up, only to have him call me 45 minutes after our appointment was supposed to start and then immediately go off on me like I had done something wrong. He then proactively told me if I didn’t like the conversation that I should call the patient advocate, and he also added that he may be wrong but he didn’t care, and that he’d been wrong before. The man openly said he may be wrong but did not care. He made my life worse.
