Awful secretary and wait times
I saw Dr. Chapman for many years and he helped me find the right medications. He's a quirky doctor who really knows his stuff. Beyond that, there wasn't much to rave about. My biggest qualm was his secretary, Dee. She has horrendous bedside manner and awful bookkeeping skills. She brought me to tears on a phone call just trying to book an appointment. She incorrectly billed my insurance for YEARS. Furthermore, every in-person appointment I had was a 30-60 minute wait time. Virtual meetings were even worse - one time he called me 3 hours later.

He's a pill Pusher for the pharmaceutical company
I went and saw him for over a year was sent there by Lutheran General children's psychiatric facility I never stayed on one pill longer than a month. which is completely irresponsible practice for psychological medication it takes at least a month for it to start working. I could tell my pill was working fine and he would put me on the new up and coming pill that they said worked for depression. He's using your kids as guinea pigs for pharmaceutical companies.

I don’t trust him
Dr. Chapman doesn’t inspire confidence. He has worked with my daughter for years and the end result is his medications don’t work. She does much better with her talk therapist.

My son saw Dr. Chapman for over a year. He disclosed private information to me in a session where I was present and violated my sons trust. We have filed a complaint with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. This man is not to be trusted.

Dr. Chapman has put me back on the path of living without PTSD, major depression, suicidal thoughts. I started to see him in 2006, when my psychologist realized that due to a major trauma in my life, Yes, at times you do have to wait. From the first time you go in, Deanna who runs the office, informs you since the Dr. has a large child and adolescent practice, if he in in the middle of an important issue with the child, he doesn't break until that issue is properly handled. I applaude that.

Dr. Chapman is a pill dispenser and lacks any appreciable therapeutic abilities. His assistant is rude and unresponsive--phone calls are virtually never returned. My recommendation is to avoid this doctor at all costs.
