Dr. Nora Hymowitz, MD

All business; terrible bedside manner. I'm a freelancer & have a difficult schedule. Nora said she could work with this, we started working together in 2018, and developed a relationship. I always paid her full rate of $345 per 45min session. I kept mentioning I was having a hard time asking family to help pay for therapy. She said as long as she knows that my dad is paying and he can afford it, she doesn't see the point of lowering the price. I told this caused me a lot of stress and anxiety, but she continued to dismiss this. Went through a breakup, multiple deaths, so forgot about the money situation. When I was feeling better, I mentioned it again, she insisted we think about it, never providing a solution. I had my worst year in 2024 emotionally and financially. Moved back in with my parents, they took over therapy payments. End of '24, I was back on my feet, stood up to Nora, said I was paying for my therapy, she said my schedule doesnt work for her anymore. Irresponsible doctor.

At first I really liked this doctor, she seemed flexible, but after three appointments with her I have realized that unfortunately she doesn't really care about her patients. It seems like she just wants to meet with them, and then isn't prepared or organized enough in the appointment and ready to ask the right questions to help. I think she needs more experience, but is qualified with her education. I recommend seeing someone who has had more patients.
