I had hypokalemia. I had a previous diagnosis of bipolar which was wrong. I have a prominent career and was an educated woman. While I was vulnerable and quite out of it and almost dead, I was admitted to a hospital when I was too sick to make consent. I was misunderstood, interrogated like a criminal, and admitted to a mental hospital for a condition I don't have. This destroyed my self-esteem. For many years I have been in hiding and ashamed. I wish I could leave my career and never be seen again. I am ADHD. I have never been nor ever will be bipolar. I ended up alone and isolated because of this experience. I was a nice person before this. They gave me meds that changed my appearance and took away everything that was ever good about me. I've advanced my career and I'm advancing my financial situation. And I will never forget how I was treated with discrimination. And in particular, how ill-informed and judgemental they were about marijuana. I am not a criminal. Nor am I bipolar.

I went to the ER while I was having a panic attack. The nurses took my blood pressure and I calmed down after about an hour. Dr. Kaufman finally came into my room and just prescribed me with some Valium. I told him I wasn't necessarily comfortable with taking it and I asked him if he recommended certain doctors to talk to, etc. His response was "there's so many, so I can't really make a recommendation." Pretty much a worthless visit that costed me almost $1,000.
