Dr. Nivedita Thakur, MD

Dr. Thakur and her resident that day, Dr. Harris, were phenomenal. They were both very attentive and listened to all of our concerns. They spoke to us and my child equally during the appointment. Including him in the conversation was so important to us. I noticed how intent they observed him and his behaviors while he was responding to their questions. They made it a point to make my child know there was absolutely nothing wrong with him and had a special way of explaining why we were there to talk about him without making him feel analyzed and picked apart. They made the appointment entertaining for him. We never felt rushed. It was a lot to unpack during the first visit, but they listened as if they had nowhere else to be. We felt heard and our concerns validated. I'd recommend both of them 1000x over. I can't speak for follow-ups because we haven't had one yet, but we have a solid place to start with our child and know what we need to do to help him moving forward.

We have seen Dr. Thakur for a year now and it’s been disappointment after disappointment. When my daughter had an EEG done we where told by the hospital that if it was abnormal we would get a call and if it was normal we would not. A month and a half passed and she sat there and completely forgot about it until I asked about it. The eeg was revised 4 days after it was done and it was abnormal!! The entire thing. She couldn’t answer why it when it was abnormal and I’m livid she never called me with results. She then said let’s have an MRI done so we went and did that which took her over a month to sign the paper work to order the MRI. Call after call she will not return your call ever. I cannot believe how careless she is. We get the MRI done and have the best experience and where told that the results would be done two days after and that Dr. Thakur would call us with results. Results where done and submitted to her two days after and she has yet to call us. Icalled 5 times no answer

I am extremely disappointed in the total lack of information I was given about my child's condition. She told me nothing about the extremely poor prognosis for my son despite seeing him 3 times.. It wasn't until another neurologist saw him the last few weeks of his life that I found out it was very unlikely he would walk, talk, live independently or see. When this doctor saw how shocked I was, she expressed shock that we didn't know. She said she saw it from his first MRI. Unbelievably disappoi.
