My five year old began acting strange-- hyperactive, aggressive, and making repetitive hand movements. I was worried that the MD would say she was just 'being a kid' and not take it seriously- but Dr. Shakya didn't. She listened to my concerns and watched my daughter, and ordered the appropriate tests to figure out what was going on. Thanks to her, my daughter is doing much better now.

We provide preschool to one one of Dr. Shakya's patients. The child has some real health concerns/special needs but on the child's health form she indicated that the child did not have any. Since we see this child for 8+hours a day/5 days a week, it would seem important that we are aware of heart and other health concerns.
