Dr. Nitisha Mutgi, MD

Dr. Mutgi delivered my daughter in 2019. We wrote in our birth plan and told her a day ago that we didn’t want episiotomy unless it’s medical emergency. She gave me an episiotomy without letting me know first and she just told me I had a 2.5 degree tear afterwards. It’s the postpartum nurse that told me that I received an episiotomy. My daughter was only 5 lb 15 oz. Dr Mutgi was 10 minutes late and she gave me that episiotomy only minutes after she arrived. There’s no distress on baby and me. That episiotomy put me through hell during postpartum. Only in 2022 when I was pregnant with my second in Virginia when I got to know that episiotomy is not recommended and not used as a routine for decades and even with a vacuum procedure the episiotomy is not needed in most cases.

She’s always been kind to me and listens! She’s listens to any problems you might be having and then gives you her best judgment. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here. She always makes you feel comfortable and has your best interest in mind!

Dr Mutgi is a really attentive, thorough obgyn. My favorite doctor I’ve had. She sees me right on time every time I have an appointment and she spends so much time getting to know you and listening to you. She remembers everything you told her from the previous appointment as well. I always look forward to seeing her!
