Dr. Nishi Shah, MD

I feel extremely fortunate to have, and continue to receive care from Dr. Shah at both the Phoenix and Chandler, AZ locations. My situation was an emergency. I was able to get an appointment the next day that was set up for me by my optometrist. I found Dr. Shah to be brilliant and compassionate with her care, she created a care plan that has eased my anxiety. Her bedside manner is exceptional!Currently my vision is improving but not sure if it will ever be the same but she did tell me of a plan she has if it does not whenever the inflammation and infection are completely healed. I thank my lucky stars for her!

We were recommended to see Dr Shah by one of her friends who worked in a different specialty in a different company. She specializes in cornea related issues and my husband’s needs were very urgent. She made a hole in her calendar and saw him the next morning. She was gentle, kind, caring and struck the right balance with him who, amongst other issues, has mid stage Alzheimer’s too and needed to be frequently reminded what she needed him to do during her exam. Within 5 minutes she had examined his ulcerated cornea, and then treated it, 5 days later, over the weekend, he was in extreme discomfort and distress. She came into the office and was just as sweet and kind and reapplied his treatment, while giving us the positive news that his eye was healing well. We saw her again today for a scheduled follow up and again she confirmed that the healing was going well. In this day and age of poor and distracted docs and access to care issues we highly recommend her.

Dr Shah has the worst bedside manner as well as a severe lack of empathy for her patients

Dr Shah is fine but the office staff is questionable at best. They dropped the ball at every stage and I have decided that I will not be getting my cataract surgery in their office. If the doctors cannot control their staff than I don't trust them with my eyes.

From the beginning of my appointment to the end of of my extraction my experience was excellent, and I highly recommend Dr Shah and his wonderful staff from the front desk to the consultation and the surgical staff. I had the best of care, and even received a call after hours to see how I was doing.
