Dr. Nirmal Sathaye, MD

The staff literally makes it so that you “miss” your appointment when in reality, you’ve rescheduled it, came and gone and they set you up to be a “no show”. Sathaye is the rudest and most uncaring doctor ever. Reality check lady- your staff doesn’t know how to properly reschedule patients and take off appointments. And funny how there’s never a call to confirm. I’m glad you kicked me out of your practice when I did nothing wrong. Shame on you.

She was OK as far as taking a history, listening to my symptoms but that's about all. When I called her to report a possible problem with the medication, she returned my call and was very defensive. She recorded our call, said as little as possible and told me how to discontinue the medication, "if I so choose." No concern for me at all as her patient, no concern for my well being, no concern for the potential outcome of discontinuing meds, no mention of following up with her to see how I'm feeling, no mention of trying another approach. Just how to stop the meds and goodbye. Don't even know if she's my Dr anymore. Shocking, how she treated me.

She's smart, empathetic and pragmatic.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Sathaye for years and would highly recommend her for medication selection and management. She understands how medications work together for my multi diagnosis. It’s hard finding the right combination. She’s not a talk therapist so appointments are short.

I am very surprised to see all of the negative reviews as I have been very happy with her. She switched up my regime, didn't get it right, switched again and nailed it. She found a combo that had eluded many other docs for years. When I see her, she pulls out notes and is fully engaged. I get the feeling that some people here are looking for therapists, not doctors. If you're looking for a couch session with a lengthy exchange, I'm not sure a doctor is what you need, Just IMHO

All she cares about is her money. Has a very uncaring attitude. If you miss an appointment she charges you the full amount even if it might be due to her staff's fault in rescheduling.

The only reason I use this doctor is that she accepts my insurance. I don't get the feeling that she actually cares. She asks a few questions and types the responses in as you're talking. Writes your prescriptions and you're out the door in 5 minutes. Would not recommend if you have other options on your insurance.

Dr Sathaye is my psychopharmacolist. I usually see her for a short visit, when she reveies how I'm doing and makes any changes to my meds, if necessary. Our meetings are fine, but I don't use her for any behavioral therapy. I would recommend her, if all you need is to be monitored.

Only use her because she takes my insurance. She writes my prescriptions and asks a couple perfunctory questions and then I'm out the door. Glorified drug pusher. The office staff isn't very friendly.

What kind of doctor would make an appointment with a young adult, have me, his mom, complete all sorts of forms, tell his caseworker that she is registered to prescribe Clozaril and then refuse to see him? This is downright unprofessional
