Always friendly, accommodating and puts my worries at ease! Dr. Zimakas has treated our son on/off for the past decade (we are military, so have moved in and out of Vermont since 2011). We are so happy to be back with Dr. Zimakas and University Pediatrics.

I don’t trust the training of doctors in Canada (from living there many years). This was about antibiotics-UVM Pediatric Primary Care. The Director of Pediatrics had seen us and written a prescription to hold onto if our baby stayed sick but we waited and then didnt refrigerate it, thanks to Walgreen’s. Two weeks hence Dr. Zimakas said my baby looked great but I told her that she had been ill almost non-stop for 2 months and regardless that she had been suffering a lot. She said she was unwilling to re-prescribe because if it was bacterial it would only get worse maybe with a high fever. A few days later my baby was shrieking in pain. I had to take her to a different doctor who diagnosed acute suppurative otitis. Within a day of Augmentin it became clear she had had underlying bacterial sinusitis. It is uncommon but could have been avoided. I care so much about my baby’s immune system long term which is why we waited. She did not listen and the net effect was verypatronizing.
