Have a daughter who is a hematology patient, she hurt her head at school and was taken via ambulance to Children’s North campus where she saw Dr Habermehl, who proceeded to tell me that I was lucky they had the medicine they did and next time take her to aurora campus, an hour away verse 10 minutes away, to get looked at…. I’m sorry 1. The paramedics and her blood doctor told them to go to that hospital so I had no choice, 2 you want me to take my 6 year old daughter who has high risk of bleeding and not responding correctly an hour away and risk her bleeding into her brain because why? Then proceeded to tell me that I misunderstood her??? You literally said “the next time this happens you should go straight to main campus in Aurora so you don’t have to make multiple trips” ok lady next time I’ll just tell the paramedics hey can you not do the life saving and correct thing and drive us an hour away while she potentially bleeds out thanks.
