New patient of Dr Fontaine
I recently had a yearly check-up with Dr Fontaine. It was my first visit with Dr Fontaine. I found her to be wonderful. We went over my previous records and discussed my concerns. I was not rushed and I felt Dr Fontaine gave me excellent information. Dr Fontaine also told me that she offered telehealth appointments which would save me the drive into Boston which is a big plus for me. Highly recommend.

Dsappointing
Always dismissive, didn't really listen any symptoms and would tell me that what was going on with my body was not true. Getting medication refilled seemed like pulling teeth. I saw her PA Emile, who pretty much is same way. He didn't properly examine my toe just brushed off as a bruise but has now developed into nail fungus and turned black. I saw Dr. Fontaine after my mom passing a couple of times, she informed I was grieving too long as far as my mood, symptoms. She advised she could prescribe meds and refer to therapist. She NEVER once considered my age and discussed all the symptoms of menopause, which I am going thru. Her solution was to prescribe medication for grief. Thank Goodness, I took time to research and talk to other doctors about what I was going thru. My past experiences with her just were not great. I kept giving benefit of doubt because you would think some one who looks like you, would treat you better. NOT NICOLETTE!!!!

Wonderful doctor
Dr. Fontaine has been my primary care physician for years, and I have nothing but the highest praise for her. She’s always considerate, isn’t condescending in our conversations, and never seems rushed. I know she’s been very busy since the pandemic, but it’s not her fault that she has such a full schedule. Sometimes there’s a bit of a wait for an appointment, but because I trust her, I’d rather wait for the appointment and go somewhere else.

All Right
For the purposes of a "sick visit" she was all right. The recommendations were doable, and seemed right. That said, the other reviews seem accurate. You do not want her as your PCP. Long waits, terrible bedside manner, rushed appointment. Worse, the nurse was difficult to understand ...

Dismissive, unempathetic, and a bit rude at times
Because Dr. Fontaine was taking me one symptom at a time, I ended up having to research and diagnose *myself* with a genetic disorder, and a specialist confirmed it. After the specialist sent her his detailed diagnosis, she became even more dismissive and even a bit rude to me - forget concern or empathy; there was none. For example: Shortly after I was diagnosed by the specialist, I had a phone call with Dr. Fontaine where she told me, "I have no idea what this condition even is. If you had something 'typical' like high cholesterol or arthritis, THAT's the kind of thing I treat." So that right there told me all I needed to know. She's a doctor who is not at all interested in continuing to learn and grow in her chosen profession, and she wasn't about to research my condition to help treat me. There's more, but I don't have the space here to share. In my opinion, there's a good reason for Dr. Fontaine's 2-star rating on this site. Needless to say she's no longer my primary care doctor.

Dr Fontaine seemed very uncaring and inattentive. Her assistant Ralph Emile, who isn't on this site, turned what should've been a simple procedure into a bad Infection, surgery and permanent nerve damage. Dr. Fontaine NEVER followed up with me after HER assistant messed up my leg. Do not go to Atrius Health in Chestnut Hill or anywhere else that this dynamic duo may practice.

I am very disappointed in care received from Dr. Fontaine. Doesn’t listen, very impatient, not thorough. I am looking for a new PCP.

I would leave zero stars if I could. Anytime I bring up what my concerns are she doesn’t listen then will recommend a treatment path that makes no sense. She won’t explain why she won’t test for things you ask for but has no problem recommending medication you don’t need.

She is an awful doctor with no regard for the patient's well being. She wrote me a fake prescription after telling me my medication could be subscribed. She was a full hour late and when she finally arrived her first words were, I don't know why you are here to see me. ...maybe because you're my doctor? She insisted that a scribe sit in on our appointment, makes me think that she has been in trouble before. I will not recommend her as a doctor nor will i be returning. Filing a formal complaint
