A very talented surgeon
He took on a challenging case, my misaligned eye operation was made more difficult by too many botulinum procedures performed by a previous ophthalmologist so my eye muscles were very weak and compromised. He operated on both eyes and had my good eye help pull over my bad eye as they work in tandem. Now my bad eye is much more centered than before. He's also careful. I need another operation to pull my bad eye down more (the horizontal is largely fixed now the vertical needs to be treated) but he wants to wait about a year to make sure the circulation to my eye muscles is sufficiently recovered before cutting into them again. With the way my misaligned eye was, both the vertical and horizontal needs to be corrected but you can only work on one direction at a time due to concerns about circulation to the eye muscles. He's professional and has a good 'bedside' manner and is always willing to listen to patient concerns and adapt his treatment accordingly. He's a great doctor.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Volpe?
Dr Volpe is arrogant and condescending.
A review of the visit notes revealed (surprisingly) that Dr Volpe actually made up “facts” regarding my surgical history stating that I had a particular surgery (usually performed for acute glaucoma) that I never had. I told him what produced the physical damage to the eye but he apparently refused to accept my answer, which is fact. Rather, he fictitiously noted in my record that I had a surgical procedure I did not have. If he wasn’t a medical doctor and a department head of a major hospital, his egoism would be silly rather than scary.
