helpful and funny
I have multiple pathologic processes going on and saw Dr Clarke for a more involved diagnosis. He ordered several tests, including some of the tests on my list that I had brought with me, while offering solid explanations why he didn't order the remaining tests on my list. He wasn't dismissive and took the time to politely answer all of my many questions. It's quite a drive for me, but worth it for the one or two times a year that I see him.

Fantastic Doctor!
My experience with Dr. Clarke had been outstanding. He is not a soft spoken person, so I can see where some folks might misunderstand his 'style'. He does communicate effectively. He is professional and personable, and may in fact be one of the best doctors I have ever experienced. He has successfully guided me through a very difficult diabetes affliction, and has helped me improve a great deal over many years. I simply cannot recommend him enough.

I don’t love OHSU, but I love Dr. Clarke and his MA Deborah. He’s kind but honest and personable. I loathe my insurance company but stayed with them because I didn’t want to give him up as my doc.

I read the other reviews and all that was said I experienced too. Spoke poorly of my other dr. (Basic lack of professionalism.) He yelled at me for no reason at all. He also physically lunged at me and told me that HE was the one that went to medical school. That wasn't even being questioned . I was so traumatized I it was difficult to see another dr. He lacks basic good manners that anyone deserves when seeking good medical help. He seems very aggressive with no knowledge of how to be a compassionate caring dr. With what other have said, I agree with.

VERY UPSET PATIENT – Feb 26, 2020

Really, really spoke loudly. Treated me as if I couldn't hear him. Expected me to know the results of complicated lab numbers i had never heard of before. Very rough in handling a tender area in my neck where I have nodules. Dismissive and rude. Kept asking what my ethnicity was. Seemed to be very jealous of my pcp doctor who he knew and refered to him as an "interesting man". The color of my skin,(back to the ethnicity) was ever present in the conversation. Final conclusion was to take some vitamins and if I had trouble swallowing call him. Breezed out. Very strange. I stopped seeing this doctor. Rude, strange, not at all helpful and my condition has continued to get worse. Would absolutely not refer anyone to him. So so loud everyone in the office could hear what he was saying to me. I was very embarrassed.

I was so excited to start seeing Dr Clarke. I really wanted someone who would look at the whole picture and help me find new ways to treat me. Instead, I was asked repeatedly, “you don’t want to gain weight, do you?” And compliments on my penmanship. My second appointment, he came into the room, said I was doing good, and got up to leave. I was never allowed to ask my questions or have my concerns addressed.

My sister is Dr. Clarke’s patient. I was shocked when she told me the decisions he was making about her insulin. Not only does he yell at her (whatever, not all doctors are nice human beings) but he was also making decisions about her healthcare that could have killed her. Run.

Horrible, horrible man. Arrogant, treated me with NO respect. He was so unkind to me I left in tears. Acted out as a know it all in front of a pre- med student, I believe to show off. Also bashed one of my previous doctors to me. That is not acceptable in such a setting. If I could give no stars I would.

I showed up for my appointment unaware that I was called 40 minutes before my appt. that I waited 2 months for to find out my appt. was cancelled! They could not reschedule me right away they wanted me to wait another 6 weeks! Very rude! Inconsiderate staff. Not to mention I drove 35 minutes to get there! When we miss doctor appointments they charge us if we don't call 24-48 hours in advance ! When they cancel it's "oh well to bad how sad" If my life depended on this doctor I would be dead!
