A caring physician
I have been a patient of Dr Canelo for over 3 years and feel very comfortable in entrusting my health care to him. He has been very proactive in researching and sharing new advances in medicine. I highly recommend him for your medical care.

Amazing Doctor
Telehealth
Dr. Canelo is a very thorough physician and actual cares about his patients. Being in the healthcare profession myself I am very picky when it comes to my healthcare providers. There are so many attributes I can mention but I will keep it short. He is unbelievable when it comes to this thoroughness and caring, really caring about me as a human being. I have had many different situations with my health needs. He always listens and directs me to the correct tests or specialists needed for my needs. I consider him one of my trusted advisors and healthcare advocate. Highly recommend Dr. Canelo. Gene St. Louis

Doctor lost his passion
I've been a patient of Dr. Canelo for multiple years and used to look forward to my visits with him. However, recently I've noticed a change in his demeanor and behavior. He seems overworked and easily frustrated. I had multiple issues that needed discussion and he told me I could only pick 1 and every issue would require its own appointment. For one emergent issue, he booked me a follow-up appointment more than a month from then. If he can't make the time, he should put the patient first and advise them to contact someone who can. He didn't want to recommend which issue should take priority and after that discussion, he had an attitude for the remainder of the visit. I've never been treated like that before at the Doctor's office. Unfortunately, I can no longer believe he has my best interests at heart and I'll be switching PCPs. I hope one day Dr. Canelo gets his passion for helping patients back.

Superstar
Superstar doctor. Warm, compassionate, amazing listener and very responsive. Instills great confidence with his knowledge and is always up to date on the latest in the field. Reminds me of an old time doctor who puts the patient in the center and follows up to make sure you are well.

Spends a lot of time with patients because he does not have too many clients. Does use several tests over and over again as an excuse to keep billing the insurance company. To get help over the phone he will not do it because he is more interested in his$300 office visit payment from the insurance company.

He spent great amount of time with me and listen to my needs. As a Registered Nurse myself, I feel fortunate to have him as my primary doctor. He truly cares about my well being. And will not order any unnecessary treatments or labs. Always follow up with what he initiated, call and discuss labs result and treatment plan. For me, he is above and beyond. Exceed my expectations which normally pretty high.

Not recommended. Quickly referred me out to other doctors when he should have been capable to provide a decision and help. Had to ask for help from other colleagues and was not competent with general medicine discussion. Wasted my time that required follow up appointment. I understand why it was so easy to get a quick appointment. Difficult with asking for help with getting a blood test linked to annual physical. Perhaps can gain confidence and capabilities in a few years.
