Dr. Nguyen Ngtam, MD

Dr. Ngtam is the best primary care physician I have ever had. Then suddenly he was gone. Where did he go? I would schedule with him if I knew where he was now practicing. Dr. Ngtam genuinely cared about his patients. His treatments worked for me. I trust him and I miss him.

Don't go to this MD if you want someone to sugar coat the truth. While this doc is friendly, he's very honest and cares about his patients. I'm upset that he's not at laburnum medical center anymore. I'll follow him anywhere around Richmond.

We have been seeing Dr. Ngtam since 2018 and have always found him to be a concerned and caring physician. When my spouse complained of food getting stuck in throat, the doctor immediately ordered an X-ray which revealed a mass. He immediately referred him to a specialist for an investigative procedure. Based on this, my spouse underwent treatment and subsequent surgery. Dr. Ngtam's quick responses to my husband health crisis saved his life. As his patients, Dr. Ngtam has been open to discussing how best to treat a condition and we have always had a two-way relationship about care. We have great confidence in him.We assert that the office environment he worked in is very poor. Staff are incompetent, impolite, uninformed, and unprofessional. Calling to make an appointment was extremely difficult, always. Our pharmacy complained that staff 'never' answered their calls, that they only responded to faxes. We have never encountered such unfriendly staff. We returned solely due to Dr. Ngtam

This dr and his nurse are a joke! He rushes through appointments, always running late, his nurse is is as dry as a desert no bedside manners from either of them. Does not seem concerned with trying to help you get healthy. Always seems to be in a bad mood, well him and his nurse. Trying to get his nurse to do something and actually listen to what you are telling her is monotonous. She speaks over you and doesn't seem to care like calling insurance companies on your behalf. Don't go there! Find another Dr!

I have given this Dr a few years to be more concerned about patient care but all he seems to be worried about is pushing pills. There are just so many things I could say but if you want a caring, attentive doctor that looks to help you improve your health, he is not it. He got EXTREMELY irritated when I asked to be referred to specialists for some things I had happening. He insisted I should just continue taking meds knowing doing so would increase my risk for cancer. I went to said specialist and found out I had a whole other problem (which specialist resolved and I feel great and have no need for any pill now). Truly the worst Dr I've ever seen. He clearly does not want to be there and he made it clear many times. The appts are very rushed, as others have said, and he lacks the empathy to care for people with feelings (which we all have). Very cold and seemingly unconcerned man.

Let’s say this I have been swelling for weeks sit at a desk long hours. Ask for Fmla because it gets bad and I have osteoarthritis, asthma, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and prediabetes. Hell I am alo over weight so he told me I was fat trying to get out of work yes I have the screenshot. Meanwhile I’m continuing to swell with lasix. If you are his patient run

If I could give a negative star review, I would. He is literally the worst doctor I’ve ever had the displeasure of speaking with. Extremely condescending and dismissive. I came in to establish care and ended up leaving before the visit was completed due to his horrible disposition. Please do not waste your time with this doctor
