Dr. Nels Dahlgren, MD

As soon as I declined a pain pump, Dr. Dahlgren treated me like a drug addict. I'd been wrongly diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which turned out to actually be psoriatic arthritis. He told me he was 'proud' of me for taking my pain medication as prescribed. What??? I'm a 69-year-old woman who ALWAYS takes my medication as prescribed. He also allowed me to experience a week-long withdrawal from pregabalin, as he called in sick on the day of my appt. and wouldn't provide even one pill a few days later, while I was in full withdrawal, so I could make the winding drive from South Lake Tahoe to Carson City to provide a urine sample without having to pull over and vomit several times on the way there. So, I suffered for a week in bed, as sick as I have ever been. No way on earth would I ever recommend this doctor to anyone, friend OR enemy!

I was impressed with the amount of care Dr. Nels Dahlgren showed. His office staff however, did not reflect this. They were only satisfactory. I thank him for his understanding and thorough exam and treatments.

He also deals with my insurance company so that I don't have to. I first went to him for numbness in my wrist (carpal tunnel) and he suggested that I see a surgeon to have it corrected. Each appointment, he'll follow up and remind me to schedule a surgery date (I'm dragging my feet on it). I've also seen him for back issues that we'll resume working on once my carpal tunnel is resolved. He's always so friendly and the conversation is fun and light. Time goes by so fast during every appointment! He also has his therapy pup in office sometimes, and he's an absolute lovebug! Highly recommended!"

I have been treated by Dr. Nels Dahlgren for a while and he is one of the greatest pain management that i have the pleasure to let him treat me, very professional and knows exactly what to do.

I met with Dr. Nels Dahlgren before and after having extensive spinal fusion - a time period of several months. He always patiently explained why and how the medications that he prescribed were going to be effective at managing my pain.

Very simple months of waiting just to get shots. Lied about having to take a drug test then came down and was told I had to take one despite the whole covid thing. Drs office NOT taking precautions with the covid. Not helping me with anything no MRI's Xrays and you get told shots are months out. Then they cancel those shots and tell you to wait three more months yet they want to cut your medication. Dr tells you one thing then two months says another thing. Dr is out of the scope of his medical practice he is not a surgeon yet every appointment he tells you if you will need surgery despite other doctors saying I need three different surgeries. Dr lies and the staff are very rude not taking other peoples disabilities into consideration. I was told not to come back all because I told them ill have to find a new Dr if the dr is going to lie. The nurse practitioner stuck me in the wrong part of the knee anything else?

Dr. Dahlgren was compassionate and cheerful. He was thorough in his explanations of the treatment possibilities and patient in answering our questions.
