Great Doctor just not great buildings he work at
Scheduling Nightmare.Still impossible to get in to receive treatment. In the past,When I called about blood and black goo in ear, Nayak's physician's assistant didn't call back until 4 days. You would think they prioritize an emergency situation, but they didn't. The lack of empathy and sympathy is visibly apparent in the hospital. The hospital blames lack of staff and being not trained. The receptionists were blaming management. Dr. Nayak is a great doctor. Unfortunately, he is contracted through that abysmal hospital. I wouldn't go to that hospital if I was dying. I'd recommend those hospitals to mortal enemies.

Wonderful ENT
I found Dr. Nayak an excellent ENT Dr. I went in with limited hearing in both ears, came out with 100% hearing. He is also a good listener. Thanks

He's a top-notch ENT doctor ... at a so-so office
He’s a great doctor: very smart, caring, articulate and knowledgeable. He's a great listener, willing to answer questions and explain things. I had a big blockage in a nostril, forcing me to mouth breath and have sleep apnea. He diagnosed 2 causes: a deviated septum and my nostril exterior was partly collapsed. In a mirror, I could see he was right. He said fully fixing my septum would be a sizable surgery and risky due to my past sinus/jaw surgeries. He said partly fixing it would be a far smaller surgery, and combined with adding a small stent in my nostril to keep it more open would give me plenty of air flow. He was right.?The surgery took only 90 minutes. I now have plenty of flow and can breath through my nose. I also had vertigo and he fixed it. I rate him a 10 out of 10. I rate the Silverstein Institute a 6 out of 10 due to: 1) the office twice failed to send my RXs to the pharmacy before surgery. 2) the billing dept messed things up and never returned calls. 3) something else

Shocking at the Treatment I Received
Telehealth
I had to wait 3 months to get a televisit with Dr. Nayak. I had sent test results and patient notes from my referring doctor to his office. There was no evidence during our visit that he even looked at that data. He made a diagnosis based on my symptoms, which at the time I thought he was correct, but in retrospect, he should have looked at the data I sent him. He recommended I try intratympanic injections and poo-pooed the Silverstein Microwick, which I thought I was a candidate for. Not knowing how to go about scheduling these injections for someone like me who lived 2000 miles away, I emailed his PA through the patient portal asking for instructions. No response. I then faxed Dr. Nayak a note, asking for instructions on how to schedule and what a visit like that would look like. I got confirmation the fax was received. No response. It appears to me Dr. Nayak has lost his desire to treat patients, that he is burnt out. He is too young for that. Disappointing.

Look elsewhere. This is not the place for Care.
They are quick to steer you into surgeries and not prepared to discuss alternatives. Dr. Nyak and his staff failed three times on three different occasions to call in prescriptions to my pharmacy. They are difficult to reach, never respond to messages and care very little about patient wellness. I’m afraid all of the bad reviews you have read are true.

Fantastic
Dr. Nayak starting treating me about a month ago as I have gone deaf in my right ear. I have had nothing but extremely compassionate and through care from him. Dr. Nayak is gentle and kind while doing procedures (I had a wick inserted into my eardrum). I have found him knowledgeable and he explains everything. His staff as well has been caring and efficient. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hayak! I am elated to have found a Dr like him. I will keep him as long as he practices.

My primary care physician sent me to Sarasota Memorial Hospital emergency last night (Tuesday) for a CT of my sinus' due to an ongoing sinus infection. The emergency room physician told me Dr. Nayak was the on call ENT he spoke with. Dr. Nayak told the doctor treating me I needed to be seen ASAP based on the CT results. My primary physician had told me she was scheduling with an ENT this Friday. The emergency physician I was speaking with at Sarasota Memorial said Dr. Nayak had told him that my condition needed to be treated ASAP. Dr. Nayak wanted me to be seen today (Wednesday) and not wait until Friday. The emergency room provided the office number for Dr. Nayak which transfers to voicemail. I called back, chose the option to speak to a nurse, and spoke with Danielle about what I was told. She told me new patient scheduling would call to schedule something within forty-eight hours and transferred me to the voice mail.
