Dr. Neil, has been my doctor since moving to Bakersfield in 2022, I have always had Kaiser (64 years) in LA area. I have had a lot of bad experiences with most of Kaiser here in Bakersfield, and usually get a referral to go to Kaiser LA for anything other than routine things. I trust Dr. Neil implicitly, he is kind, compassionate he really cares about his patients physical and mental health. He is always available and has fitted me into his schedule even while he was on family leave, to come in and give me a spina injection. I pray that Kaiser does not loose him or that he leaves the area.

Treats the patient, not just the condition
After YEARS of Kasier & 20 years of battling various medical conditions, I can finally honestly say I have received help. In an honest opinion of Dr M I have to separate him from Kaiser. Kaiser has dropped me before. Needless to say, I was very irritated and suffering when I met w Dr NM for the 1st time. I just wanted my medicine refilled but, Dr N took the time to create a plan for me, WITH me in the office and, it was empowering being involved in my treatment in any real, active way. Dr N is not a pill pusher, nor is he against the appropriate medication for each case. This is a Dr that cares about people and responsible prescribing (he doesn’t prescribe loosely if that’s what you’re actually wondering) I didn’t ever feel judged or marginalized because I wanted to continue my regiment. I ask honest questions and get solid science, experience & recommendations every time. I trusted this Dr with my life. He has helped save me from me. I am safer, sober and a more pain free me. GL

When ever I see Dr. Mandalywala he takes the time discuss my current condition, and then prescribe what ever my condition needs. Howerver I believe his department needs more doctors as he is the only Dr. working in pain management.

He's arrogant, and short tempered. Worst experience in 40 years of Kaiser membership.

Talented, experienced Pain Management Specialist
I was referred to Dr. Neil Mandalaywala ("Dr. Neil") for management of chronic lower lumbar pain arising from a slip and fall with subsequent surgery about 35 years ago in another state. Subsequent auto-accident trauma and other mishaps have compelled me to repeatedly seek treatment. I found Dr. Neil to have superior skills, extraordinary judgment, and uncommon organizational/direction abilities. He has, to date, administered two lumbar steroid epidural injections following confirmation of ongoing degenerative disc disease by MRI. Both outpatient procedures were performed at the Bakersfield Specialists Surgical Center ("BSSC"). While the first procedure was not notably helpful, the second was tremendously beneficial. Dr. Neil's advanced training at the prestigious Rusk Institute at New York University Langone Health, and subsequently, the University of Washington, began a record of achievement and advancement which, to date, has allowed him to perform more than 10,000 diverse LE
