Wonderful caring doctor - spends time and asks lots of questions to hear your issues and symptoms . Took care of me and very professional and can’t say enough about how impressive he was ...highly recommend .

Not very responsive. Don't bother using the patient portal as he never replies or responds. Did not communicate after my last lab reports despite my emails. My lab reports didn't come back normal. I ended up switching Rheumatologists and my new doctor was surprised that there was no intervention by Dr. Birnbaum given the lab results from 2 months prior. When I reported this to the office, the front lady told me I should have continued to call the office until I got in touch with someone.

Dr. Birnbaum was a new doctor for me & he doesn't know very much about osteoarthritis of the knees.. He says there isn't much that can be done.. I disagree because I've done much physical therapy which has been very helpful in strengthening the muscles above & below my knees which has help to reduce pain. Splints have also helped to prevent my knees from getting worse. He is "old school" and only knows what he's been taught. I'm looking for someone else younger & with better bedside manners.
