Avoid this doctor
Aggressive. Dismissive. Callous. There was a moment after I answered her question that she literally just stared at me. We stared at each other in silence for at least twenty seconds before she finally spoke. I have never been so uncomfortable around a doctor in my life… and I have had 9 surgeries on my a** (butt). The whole “consult” was more like an interrogation, which both of us could not wait to be done with. She would be more suited to a research position, not working with vulnerable patients.

Condescending
I had a telephone conversation with this doctor and she made excuses for her colleagues regarding the poor treatment plan that my child is receiving. She had the audacity to question my request to be seen by another network by rudely questioning me “ do you really think that you are going to get better treatment with another network?” I confidently said yes because 3 attempts with Kaiser’s childrens’ neurologists have been bad experiences. My child has had this condition since almost age two and I can honestly say that the neurologists and specialist that we have dealt with, just don’t care. Ashikian had the nerve to recommend my child’s medical treatment plan to an ADULT epileptologist and seeing nothing wrong with it. During this conversation I became emotional because of the lack of compassion and empathy my family and I have experienced. In no way was this conversation a positive one and Ashikian ended it with a sarcastic “happy holidays.”

Her impatience & irritation were palpable my first visit; it seemed like she loathed every second of interaction. Distrustful of my assertions, she peevishly discounted family conditions & unfairly accused me of googling a dozen unfamiliar diseases. Even when surprisingly speaking softer the next visit, she sounded mocking and insulting, talking down as if to a child. I doubt she realizes negative tests don't logically indicate absence of underlying organic issues; that she did her due diligence; or she'll ever concede the limits of current methods. Even when I sent pics of clear abnormalities, she ignored me for a month until prompted by another MD, and then her reply was wrongly assumptive and rude. Despite firm disagreement, I didn't want to engage. I wouldn’t see her if she were the last doctor on Earth.

She was very rude. She didn't listen to what I had to say. She seems like just woke up and God forbid had to talk to me that day in the hospital. She has a very not caring attitude and everything seems like a bother to her. Would recommend someone else. Needs training in empathy. Gives kaiser a bad name.

Dr. Ashikian could use training on what it means to be compassionate and empathetic. She made me feel like I was wasting her time the entire appointment. I have been a Kaiser member for 15 plus years and have never experienced treatment from a Dr. like I felt when I left her office.

Dr. Ashikian has been my Neurologist for the last few years and I'm thoroughly impressed by her. I've had a few unexpected incidents, some requiring me to be in the hospital, and she has always been well informed and interested in my progress. She is easy to reach and I always look forward to seeing her for updates on my situation. Yay Dr. A !!!

The worst Doctor in Kaiser Permanente Woodlandhills. Rude, cold-hearted ,has absolutely no respect or empathy for patients. I have never experienced this kind of disrespectful unprofessional behavior from a doctor at Kaiser. She is a disgrace to the medical profession. Care and compassion is top priority in helping a patient before a diagnosis. A patient may come to her with pain and she would care not to care! She is a misfit for this profession. ?????

Neurologist.. wow, Not her field !! She LACKS what a good train Medical Doctor is supposed to be. My first time experience with her was Aweful, personally she needs to take a course on being more empathetic to her patients. She needs to know why she entered in this field in the first place, it’s to want to help people, for Dr Nazely, she has no regards to patients on their emotional level. don’t accept any referrals from your primary to see her! Not a compassionate Doctor, reflects coldness-rude

Respect in Woodland Hills – Apr 14, 2018

Any Doctors ( Nazely Ashikian) are supposed to be in the line of work of helping people. This neurologist has real BAD cause of bedside manners. She interacted with me as if I was taking her precious time and her demeanor says it all. I’ve been a patient with Kaiser over 12 years, never ever have I experience the behavior of a MD. She should take note that a good doctor with good bedside manner demonstrates empathy, and emits an aura of ease for anyone seeing her. She is the worst Dr. I’ve seen.
