The best primary care physician I have ever encountered. So fortunate to be in her care.

Review for Dr. Nawal Lianne Atwan Johansen Dr. Johansen has been my PCP since 2009. She is one of the best doctors I’ve ever worked with in the past 70 years, for these reasons: She is part of “Team Katherine”. Diagnosed with MS 30 years ago, Dr. J knows I utilize both holistic and conventional treatments. She is caring and knowledgeable, offering advice, but always respects my choices—even when they differ from hers. Dr. J listens and takes concerns seriously. In 2010, her concern over a tiny lump under my ear resulted in a 6-hour Parotidectomy, tumor removal and reconstructive surgery. Thanks to Dr. J, I’ve had no complications since. In 2011, her quick call and advice to me in an ER in Mexico, resulted in a flight home for surgery that saved my kidney. Two years ago we moved over two hours away from Dr. J. However, if she’s in the state of California, I will drive whatever distance is required to remain a patient under her incredible care.
