What a miserable negative experience I had. From the non listening, pushing a prescription I didn’t want or need but said he was prescribing it anyway! Pushing me to see a doctor I said I didn’t want to see, and pushing an epidural I said I didn’t want! WOULD NOT LISTEN! The arrogance, know it all attitude and having him ask questions that another man had come in and just asked the same ones with a student. As a woman I don’t want to see three different men for my appointment, separately, AND all at once! And wanting to do a medical evaluation that isn’t even his job!UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am so disgusted.

Overall great experience and treatment from a very professional pain management doctor.

I have suffered neck and back pain since 1966 during Viet Nam. The test procedures preformed over the past 3-months by Dr. Alem and associates have been successful in eliminating my neck pain.

This doctor will never lift a finger to help if you are in pain. He said my chronic pain would "melt away" if I got off the (what HE called) high doses of prescription opioids I had been on for thirty years. I did well on them, but had to drive a long way to one of the few remaining doctors who continued, out of compassion, to prescribe them. So I tapered the drugs down, with unnecessary agonies because he would not prescribe the opioids which would have made the process painless, until I was taking none at all. He then gave me a drug which my insurance would not pay for as I was never addicted, only dependent, and the drug is only rated for assistance in opioid addiction treatment, not chronic pain. It has been weeks and I am in terrible pain, confined to bed, whereas on opioids I was active and productive! His advice? Go to someone else: I'll send you a list of doctors. He send it - by postal mail, not caring, as usual, how much or long I suffered. I never received it.

He is a genuinely nice and caring person and I have great confidence in his ability and knowledge of current procedures. His assistant Dr. Amina is also very nice. I highly recommend Dr. Navid, he is an amazing doctor, human being. He's very knowledgeable, caring, professional, a great teacher and listener, I never felt rushed.
