Failure to provide a prescription
She then went out on an early pregnancy to return in October. This is not the problem. She and I had discussed this and she said she would handle. Then, when I had to see the PA who was left in charge a series of messages were handled by a woman who did not translate my messages correctly (* with a very squeaky little voice) culminating in my having to come back into the office to see him during this duraction if I wanted anything. I spoke with the office manager who said she would relay the issue to the Dr. when she returned. At that time I cancelled all appts leaving this office permanently and now have not one, but two appts on the books which I have cancelled yet again this morning. I don't think things were handled correctly in her absence.

Staff prevented me from seeing the doctor; she allows them to do so Despite numerous complaints about the staff at Dr. Whitelaw’s practice, I must add my experience of the exceptionally egregious behavior of this staff, which was toxic, far beyond a lack of caring or professionalism. The behavior of the staff, specifically Teresa at the front desk and the “office manager” were on April 29, 2021, inexcusably abusive to me. They exercised their “authority” to deprive me of needed treatment and to prevent me from communicating with the doctor. For four months, they failed to process referrals to a specialist (and lied about it). And on this day, they refused to let me see the doctor, to schedule a telemedicine conference in which my pressing medical needs might be addressed, or to provide a copy of lab results containing vital medical information, so that I might bring that information to another doctor. Dr. Whitelaw and the El Sol Family practice are entirely responsible for this behav

I saw Dr. Whitelaw once and she was pleasant. I would recommend her, but I can't get past how unprofessional the front office and nursing staff is. I will not go back.

Dr. Whitelaw is professional, caring and knowledgeable, and I would like to remain a patient of hers; however, her nursing staff is disinterested at best. For my first visit, the nurse failed to order blood tests, which simply meant sending a message to a neighboring room. A few months later when I called for a refill, the nurse didn't return my call; finally, after leaving 3 messages, I was able to get through to her. Additionally, I've had other experiences similar to these two. Now that the staff is moving to Tucson, I am hesitant to stay with Dr. Whitelaw as I was looking for a physician in the Vail area. The overall experience with Dr. Whitelaw was wonderful; regarding her nurse, the experience was awful.

Dr Whitelaw is great, but the nursing staff is terrible! The nurses are hateful on the phone and when Dr is not around.

I finally have someone who was willing to personally look into the issues I've been dealing with for years now. She took a genuine interest in addressing the problems I am having and not just treating symptoms. For the first time I feel like there is an actual plan to determine the cause of my pain. Thank you Dr. Narissa! Sincerely, Barbra Magee

Dr. Whitelaw was very nice and did listen to my husband when he went in for a new patient appointment. she told us she was going to do a little research about what blood work to test ( he has SIBO & had lost 60lbs in the last 5 months) and get back to us in a week. 2 weeks later we still hadn’t heard anything. My husband called the office and told them what she had said and we have stillNEVER heard from her! Who blows off a sick patient like that! Just be aware and be an advocate for your health

I've been with Dr. Whitelaw for 2 years now as my primary care physician. I think she is excellent both at listening and providing her own services as well as referrals for other necessary procedures. I never feel rushed in her presence. Top notch!

Dr. Whitelaw and her able professional staff are just what we have been looking for in a Primary Care Physician. One of Doctor Whitelaw's. greatest skills is her ability to listen! We never feel as though we are being rushed. She has dealt with a wide variety of maladies with my wife and I and has done so calmly, professionally and generally successfully. She has a delightful sense of humorist which is a rarity in an increasingly humorless, impersonal profession. Bravo Dr. Whitepaper staff.

Dr Whitelaw is my primary and has always been fully present with me during our appointments, made follow-up phone calls to me, listens to me carefully, answers fully, welcomes my lists, and helps me through referrals and insurance issues. The staff is efficient, helpful, and friendly. I am also happy to be a part of the Carondelet health system since my group-affiliated specialists can easily share info with my primary. Happy to have such a good doctor.

She takes the time to listen to what my health concerns are. She never makes me feel like she is trying to rush me out of the office. This is very important to me since I have a chronic health problems. Even when the Rita Rd./Houghton Carondelet office was severely under staffed with enough Drs. to provide proper care to their patients and Drs. we're leaving Carondelet, Dr. Narissa Whitelaw stayed to help all her patients. In my opinion she held the facility together. Thanks Dr. Whitelaw.
