Dr. Naoki Umeda, MD

After 2 years bedridden following a seeming recovery from covid, I was desperate to hold onto what little remained of my life before catching the virus even as unending accusations against my character had severely poisoned my mind. I expected Dr. Umeda to be just the next person to tell me that all I needed to do was something I physically could not do or accuse me of not doing what I said or else I’d be cured (compression socks, salt). I expected to be told to keep a gratitude journal or something similarly dismissive, but I never expected to meet the combination of superior intellect, sincere compassion, and to not only be believed but for him to prove to me that I had not been faking what ruined my life by actually treating it.As a provider in a different specialty, I would be honored to be half the doctor and person he is. Rarely is the time taken to explain things like he did because for a doctor, it’s like willingly taking a pay cut. Becoming his pt truly saved my life.

Dr. Umeda addressed my concerns thoroughly and compassionately. It is obvious that he is an expert in his field. I left my initial appointment feeling hopeful for the first time since becoming ill. He considers the whole body as working synergistically. This approach greatly contrasts the conventional doctor who only treats the symptoms of the presenting problem. Thank you Dr. Naoki Umeda!
