The experience was unprofessional, personal, calculating, and greed. I have specialist drs for my diabetes heart and gastro none of which Dr. Mathur specializes. He is general medicine not a surgeon. However everyone needs a primary general medicine physician for I.e. cold referrals blood work etc. This is where Dr. Mathur comes in to play….when having the specialist for the mentioned ailments that is whom monitors. When I first became a patient of Dr. Mathurs I believe in 2003; I was younger and didn’t have the mentioned ailments. Therefore my visits were not as often. After detecting the issues I was referred to whom specialized. Therefore the monitoring lessen. Dr. Mathur is upset bc I’m not allowing him to monitor what the specialist does. If that was the case why specialist? My hearted needed him to monitor my B12 he refused stating that I needed to go back to him bc I only come once a year. I asked if LabCorp was presenting his office today and he stated No; when in fact they were. I found his behavior a disgrace to the general medicine physicians. Bc he has some equipment he feels intimidated . Nit to mentioned I’ve recommend so many people and family to him .

Be Warned
He’s extremely rude to female patients and doesn’t believe you when you go over symptoms and has missed many vital signs in my health! He interrupts, accusatory, won’t prescribes what is necessary but will hand out medication to my spouse like candy! My husband didn’t believe me until I had Him listen on a telemed and he was appalled and went to my next 2 in person appts and noticed the indifferent treatment. Charges an in office visit for a 2 min phone call to tell you blood results but makes it sound like you need to call back as it’s important. Diagnosed me depressed when I lost a ton of weight fatigued and in pain and here I have a serious medical condition that was found- failed to tell me I’m “depressed” found it in my records. He’s rude condescending dismissive and someone will seriously be hurt one day under his care if not already.

More than a vast knowledge of medical facts and procedures goes into making a superior physician. Along with a thorough understanding of the complex and myriad components that comprise human anatomy, Nalin Mathur also possesses key ingredients essential for earning a reputation as an outstanding health practitioner. Besides his medical know-how and decades of experience, Mathur embraces compassion and empathy as equally important tools when assessing and diagnosing a patient's emotional and psychic state along with their physical condition. Obviously, he is a devotee of a philosophy that believes a healthy mind is paramount in maintaining a healthy body. I have been one of Dr. Mathur's patients since the early 1990s when he embarked on his distinguished medical journey from a modest co-op practice in La Plata, MD, and I was a new Charles Countian transplanted from Chevy Chase, MD. Whether ailing, recovering, or a spot just in-between, I always afford Dr. Mathur the respect he deserves.

Dr Mathur is so kind and knowledgeable. He sees my entire family. We love him. Brittany, his receptionist, is super nice and informative. If I call for a late minute appointment for my kids, she always fits them in with the Doctor. She is very caring.

Dr. Mathur's practice is poorly run. Appointments seem to be quadruple booked, wait times are over an hour and the billing department consistently submits claims late and attempts to hold patients responsible for Bill's insurance would cover if submitted timely. We are lucky we know how to navigate the situation and not just fall for this. The insult to injury is that they are refusing to see my son who is injured despite acknowledging that they have failed to file the claims properly. Poor customer service and bad business practices earned them this low ratin.

Be very careful about the test and treat ments he prescribes. Make sure what he prescribes is covered under your insurance. He wants to charge you for every little thing he can and make you come in for office visits that, aren't needed.

Dr. Nalin Mathur upcoding ( overcharge) my bill. I visit him for a preventive yearly physical, and he charged me 336.00 dollars for the visit. When I ask him why he charged me that amount ( full cover with my insurance) he said; I don't do yearly preventive. This is not right! I will never visit again Dr. Nalin Mathur. He is an upcoding doctor. I can visit a doctor who can speak clearly to the patients.
