Dr. Nafia Ashique, MD

My 94-year-old mother was in ER then moved to hospital to determine why she was so weak. A cardiac event was suspected and Dr. Ashique ordered some tests that were completed by 2:00pm. At 4:00pm, I ask the RN when we would see a doctor for results, etc. The RN go ahold of Dr. Ashique via phone; he handed me the phone to talk to her. I asked to see her and she wouldn't come to the room. She didn't explain the test results well and I couldn't understand her. Frustrated, I gave the phone back to the RN and asked to SEE someone. No doctor bothered to come to the room. Finally, a different RN got me a little information and I checked Mom out. No way was I leaving her there any longer. She was given a couple of medications, but there was no explanation regarding what they were nor their purpose. We were told to expect a call from cardiology in 2 days for a folllow-up appointment. It's been a week and nothing! VERY POOR!!

We had a very, very bad experience with this doctor. he was admitted by a cancer specialist. part of his problem was severe diarreha. He was taking 3 anti diarreha meds every 2 hrs and this Doctor orders stool softeners. That's all we needed. When I saw the new pills and asked what they were I could not believe it . I refused the meds and when I asked her why she ordered it, "it's standard procedure". Undoubtedly she hadn't read his medical file. There were several other problems but I won't get into those.
