Dr. Mylanie Facelo, DO

I've seen Dr. Facelo three times now. I had to wait three months to become a new patient (honestly it was the same everywhere else with well reviewed docs in Tucson) and it was well worth the wait. She's been so thorough with me, really explains things if I have concerns. She shows empathy and has great bedside manor. I think she does sometimes get behind as all docs do, but from what I've witnessed it's because of the care she takes with her patients. First PCP I've had in awhile that doesn't make me feel like she's got one foot out the door as soon as they step in. She was also very clear with me on billing at one visit, wanting to make sure I understood what would be billed based on needs I brought up. I had an urgent situation once and was able to be seen right away due to her policy of keeping slots open for urgent needs. I've only had to try this once, so not sure if it's always easy, but I was shocked I got in. The staff in her office have all also been very friendly.

Caring, actually listens while looking at you. Asks intelligent and relevant questions. Lucky I was able to find her when I left my previous doctor.

Very difficult to get a timely appointment. She focuses on certain conditions and ignores others.

I was a pt for 2 years and feel that she could have been more thorough I was very disappointed in the care I was given

Dr. Facelo is nice, kind, and skilled, however it is not possible to get a timely appointment. It is off-putting to be asked to read a 6-page philosophy that basically amounts to "make good choices" and "don't expect too much of your physician." One is reminded often to not discuss anything but the one thing you are there for. This does not allow for holistic treatments as a patient may have many different complaints that are correlated. This leads to surprise billing, because the number of health concerns you raise WILL be counted and they WILL be billed separately. This long-time patient finally ran out of patience with this practice.

This provider did not provide refills on maintenance medications. This is very inconvenient for the patient to be seen every other month to get refills on basic maintenance meds. I have switched providers.

After waiting over 3 months for an appointment, Dr. Facelo's office contacted me to reschedule my appointment which was supposed to occur in 5 days. The earliest new patient appointment would be 4 months from now. Since medications cannot be refilled until after you are seen by the doctor, it's impossible to wait the 4 additional months. Too bad for me unless I want to establish care with one of their nurse practitioners. However if I go with the Nurse Practitioner I would then be unable to become a patient of Dr. Facelo. Avoid Carondelet Medical group and its affiliates if at all possible.

Dr. Facelo is attentive and responsive to all my inquiries.

I really like Dr. Facelo. She listened to me. She was very thorough. I would highly recommend her!

Annual checkup: Dr Facelo listened attentively to a long list of my medical updates for the year, offered advice, & even removed a possibly suspect skin lesion. She is both professionally efficient and friendly.
