Dr. Muyibat Adelani, MD

I had a TKR in September and Dr. Adelani has been amazing. She is very thorough and follows up with any questions I have. I hope I don’t need a TKR on my other side but if I do Dr. Adelani will be my surgeon.

I have had knee replacements in both knees about 10 years ago. Recently, my left knee started popping out place, buckling and is generally unstable so that I have to use a cane or walker at times. There is no pain unless it has to 'pop' back into place.Dr. Adelani diagnosed my left knee issues as knee pain. She explained this sometimes happens with knee replacements. She prescribed ice and Ibuprofen (something I had been doing the 17 days prior to my appt.) and assured me that it would subside with time. I just saw my trusted Orthopedist who believes I need outpatient surgery (a far cry from ice and Ibuprofen) to replace a piece of hardware from the original knee replacement. He hopes this will take care of the issue but if not I'll have to have a total knee replacement again. Do not see Dr. Adelani as she will dismiss and minimize your concerns. You will walk out feeling unvalidated and unheard. Get a second opinion if you see her as I don't trust her.

I would not recommend this surgeon to anyone. I have taken care of a lot of her patients and have had an awful experience with lots of them. Many post op complications, or incomplete work by the surgeon.

I love Dr. Adelani. I have had both knees replaced and I see her every couple years to check that all is well. She is not rushed. She listens carefully and involves me in decisions about my health.

Dr. Adelani did absolutely nothing to help me with my knee issue. She didn't seem to care about my situation and tried to push meds (that I can't have due to another medication I'm on) or an injection for an issue that should really be dealt with through minor surgery. She seemed distant and just wanted to go on to the next patient.

I asked for a "top 5 knee surgeon list" from my physiatrist and my physical therapist, both of whom had been treating my knees for more than a decade and know me AND my knees very well. Dr. Adelani was the only doctor on both lists, so I felt secure that we would be a good fit. After my initial phone call with her RN, I felt even more confident she would be my choice. Dr. Adelani is focused and direct, she thoroughly answered all of my endless questions, both before and after my TKR surgery, and I never felt she was trying to brush me off. Not only is she a wonderful surgeon, she also has an outstanding team to provide post-surgical support! My first surgery was in January 2020; although my second TKR had to be postponed due to COVID-19 complications, I am eagerly waiting for it to be rescheduled later this year.

Dr. Adelani is the best. I had a total knee replacement in August of 2018 and have had no pain or problems since. I recently tore my miniscus in my other knee and she was caring and compassionate as we discussed possible treatments. No rushing and the patient is part of the decision making. Now to address some of the negative reviews above. The x-rays are done by Barnes and she is not responsible for the cost. The shot in the joint is standard treatment for many joint issues and she is not quick to suggest surgery, but you went to her because she's a surgeon! She is extremely caring and kind!!

Dr. Adelani performed a total knee replacement on me in 2017. I have no complaints about her as a surgeon. I trusted her skills. She was always professional and courteous to me in our interactions. I was appreciative of her good listening skills and she answered my questions to my satisfaction. I would recommend her to anyone needing orthopedic surgery.

THR done by Dr. Muyibat Adelani on March 16th 2018. Zero complications. Having a TKR by her done soon. "Whenever you're ready" was her reply. LOL! Her smile is unforgettable, totally.

I had a full knee replacement. I got a timely appointment where I was seen by her and another surgeon. The surgery was clearly explained,and my questions were answered. ~ The Doctor’s surgery went without any problems. I saw her many times while in the hospital. I am HAPPY, PLEASED, and GLAD that I CHOOSE DR. ADELANI !! She is a Superb surgeon, and my recovery has gone Perfectly!! I have FULL CONFIDENCE in Dr. ADELANI !! A 1st/ Rate Surgeon !!!

I hurt the ligaments around back of knee in horrifying pain when standing, knee locks up. I saw her one time. Before seeing the doctor, In office X Rays were done. She did 7 of leg. Then i waited in room for 45 mins. She came in, sat at desk, read X Rays and said all looks good. No examination. She ordered physicsl therapy in same buiding. PT office person said scheduling 5 weeks out for new patients. I said i would go to another location, was told same everywhere. Said fine. About 3 weeks lat

she seemed cold/distant. After tests she referred me to another dr., 3x's specifically said 'don't call them they'll call you'.. Left message next day to speak to dr bc she had quoted my symptoms inaccuratly..... left second message....still no return call. Two months later i had not heard from anyone. Left message...finally received call, they apologized, yes, she had written order but nothing had been done about it. i was assured she would get this rolling & FU on this, 7wks later...waiting.

Neither of her first two diagnoses were correct. Quick to give a shot in the joint. Doesn't ask questions about symptoms; poor communications. Cookie cutter approach. Quick to suggest surgery. Poor beside manner by her and her assistant. I refer to her to family and friends as the shot doctor.

Insensitive, uncaring, poor bedside manners! Does X-rays repeatedly, and then does nothing! Very costly!!!
