We would highly recommend Dr. Shames
My husband had a repair of an abdominal aneurysm and 2 aneurysms in his leg and Dr. Shames took the time to explain clearly the problem, what he needed to do, why, and the probable outcome, which was very successful.

I found Dr. Shames to be very unprepared on telconfrance. I found his office did not follow up on obtaining my records and test results before my appointment. As I would be traveling 2 hours to see this Dr. Had I not called to verify all records and images need were not recived, I would have wasted a trip . Very disappointed in this Drs office unprofessional actions. After waiting two months for this appointment with an 80% blocked aorta and a dead kidney due to the blockage.

Dr Shames is a miracle worker. He saved my Mom’s life during a complicated surgery. He followed up with consistency and was a great teacher to his students. He cares very much and is extraordinarily talented.

Had vein removal in both legs. Dr. Shames was a gem. Thorough, complete and caring. Legs look great. His team was supportive and professional. He even covered my $23 bill I had from TG.

Dr. Murray Shames performed a dangerous & extremely difficult surgery on my brother at TGH January 16th 2018..He removed a leaking abdominal aortic stent graft he put in around 2011...The surgery failed as 3 days later my brother had peritonitis due to a fissure in the intestinal area that wasn’t repaired during initial surgery on January 16th 2018. My brother died after 32 days in icu & 1.2 mil $ in med. bills. The dr said my brother died because he wanted to. Stay away from dr. shames please

To be clear let me state that despite having a scheduled, confirmed, new patient appointment; one that I had appropriate medical records transferred to his office for and that I was on time for, Dr. Shames was not present in any capacity to participate in the experience I had at his office. This is, in fact, why I gave him one star. I was pawned off onto a less educated Assistant-whatever who was no doubt, an RN, overconfident in opinions, skill and no value to a patient in need of a surgeon!

This man is a butcher! He has ZERO compassion and could care less about the pain and suffering his incompetence has caused. He performed a femoral artery bypass last year and it left me with horrible scars damaged nerves - constant pain - badly swolen ankle ( only AFTER the surgery) The surgical wound too MONTHS to heal - not just a few weeks. I had to take weeks of physical thearapy to learn how to walk again. The pain and suffering made open heart surgery look like bruised ankle. HORRIBLE
