Brilliant surgeon
Discectomy Fusion C4-C5.This was my 3rd surgery with Dr. Sharma. All in different areas of the spine. He was able to mend a failed lumbar surgery completed by another doctor. I've recently had a c4 fusion. The team he has assembled for surgery is outstanding! Everyone came in to pre op to explain their role in my care and answered any questions I had. Dr. Sharma is beyond the best neurosurgeon I have the pleasure of knowing. I would never trust anyone else. I can't stress enough that his office staff, surgery team and skills is above and beyond

Surgical Review
Very efficient, fully explains details of surgery. Initial appointment, basic physical exam and explains anticipated surgery. PA then took full physical. Second appointment, very brief q&a about surgery. Staff scheduled surgery. Surgery, very brief hello, introduced surgical assistant, anesthesia administered (don’t remember anything else. Third appointment, never saw doctor, PA removed surgical staples. Never saw doctor again!

Saw Dr Sharma at the request of my primary care physician for severe neck and arm pain. I almost cannot use my right arm because of the pain and weakness. Dr Sharma immediately diagnosed a herniated desk and recommended a minimally invasive treatment for it. I woke up from surgery with my pain gone in my arm almost completely back to normal. I cannot thank you enough Dr Sharma!

I saw Dr. Sharma For a surgical consultation at the recommendation of one of my family members. I had been trying to get relief from my back pain for years and had gone from surgeon to surgeon without any solutions. Dr Sharma treated my family member and took their pain away almost overnight and they could not speak highly enough of him. When he saw me, he had a very quick minimally invasive solution for my problem. I had significant relief from my symptoms right after surgery. My recovery was quick and I’m very grateful to Dr Sharma and the entire office for improving my life.

Dr. Sharma performed a spine surgery for me. I was told after the surgery all the pain I was experiencing would go away. However, ever since the surgery I have had trouble walking, sitting, and moving around and have constant pain in my back, right leg, and other parts of my body, even worse than before the surgery. I am severely suffering from this pain constantly. Every time I call him he sends me on a wild goose chase. He first said it would take a few days and after I called him he said a few weeks. After a few weeks I visited him and he said a few months. Now after six months I am still suffering with this severe pain. I am very unhappy with his service.

Dr. Sharma was clearly able to explain my condition and the best surgical procedure to alleviate my pain. He answered all my questions and understood my time frame and was willing to work with me to provide care. I am pain free and am able to go on with my life, and my gratitude is immeasurable.

Excellent patient communication. Takes the time to listen, gives options & recommendations and I felt was very thorough. Surgery co-ordinator Casey is amazing, very patient when I had to canceled my procedure twice. When she says she will do something it’s done!

Dr. Sharma performed a microdiscectomy for a herniated disc at L5-S1. He explained things very well and took the time to answer my questions. I felt relief immediately after the surgery. He met with us just before and after the surgery. I did not need to take any narcotics after the surgery. I would recommend Dr. Sharma and his staff.

Dr. Sharma diagnosed a herniated disc at my L3/L4 that had been giving me severe leg problems for approximately three years. An orthopedic surgeon had previously diagnosed the problem as degenerative disc disease even after reviewing my MRI clearly showing the herniated disc. Dr. Sharma performed minimally evasive surgery and fully corrected the problem in April 2016. In the fall of 2018, Dr. Sharma performed an out-patient lumbar decompression on my L5 that stopped severe lower leg cramping.

Dr. Sharma performed a 1 level bone fusion as corrective action to a previous surgery from another surgeon. Dr. Sharma gained a full understanding of the previous spine fusion failure and explained his plan to correct. I agreed with his view of the situation and he performed a successful surgery ( 16 weeks ago). 95 percent of the pain is gone and no more need for ibuprofen anymore!!! I'm back to full activity and I would recommend to my closet friend.

Be careful patients. Surgery will be as little as possible and bring you back for another if another problem exists. While waiting they are completely inaccessible and you may suffer. No compatience. They can’t manage existing patients and look for new. Assembly line surgeon. You will never get to speak to him once surgery is done. This info is fact and not out of anger. I would not recommend!

I highly recommend Dr. Sharma. He spent quality time with me, answered all my questions, explained each step and procedure and put my mind at ease. Everyone knows how scarey it is to have any type of surgery done to your back, including Dr.Sharma. He is very thorough and makes sure you are completely comfortable going forward in any decision you make. His team in the entire office ( front to back) in the Fredericksburg location are incredibly helpful, very polite and very nice.

Prior to meeting Dr. Sharma, I had suffered extreme groin & inner left knee pain over a 2+ year period of time, due to other neurologists & neurosurgeons not seeing (or not willing to see) my condition on multiple MRIs. Dr. Sharma took one look at my initial MRIs and not only found what was wrong with me, but also conducted the surgical procedure that corrected my condition (pinched nerve). For the first time in almost 3 years, I am pain-free & I owe it all to Dr. Sharma! "Thank you!"

I have seen many Doctors for my spine and Dr. Sharma ALWAYS treats me with respect and compassion. He installed my pain simulator a few years ago. Now my scoliosis has gotten so bad he needs to do a Xlif on me. I love that he can do minimally invasive procedure with a short recovery time. 2 other doctors wanted to cut me open for a very serious surgery. I am grateful that Dr. Sharma keeps his skill up to date so that he can offer this procedure.

I was referred to Dr Sharma by my pain dr in 2015, and he performed surgery in both 2015/2016 to correct different issues. When I started having other pain, I went back to him, and the CT/MRI/XRAYS showed that surgery would be needed. At my husbands request, I got a second opinion. That dr recommended a different path. I sent an email with this info to Dr Sharma, and he had us come in to discuss the differences. My husband and i were both impressed at his ability to calm our fears. :)

I had suffered with leg pain for the majority of my life. I knew what I needed to have done, but I never felt comfortable enough with any dr to let them operate on me. After one meeting with Dr. SHARMA, I knew he was the right dr. I had surgery in sept., a car accident in oct. and today I am pain free and released from care. Excellent surgeon and excellent person. Thank you Dr. Sharma.
