I have been seeing Dr. Rao consistently for over 10 years. Over the years she has helped me tremendously with my mental health and she has shown care through patience, understanding, encouragement, and accountability. From day 1 my mother and I were impressed with her thoroughness and throughout each visit she refers back to her diligent notes from previous sessions. I would highly recommend anyone who is struggling with mental health to trust the care provided by Dr. Rao.

Buyer beware
My three children were seeing Dr. Rao for adhd when I called them to notify them that they were overcharging me on my copay. Later that day I received a phone call from the very rude receptionist that I had to pay cash for all of my further appointments because insurance was not paying them. I called my insurance and this office was sending the billing to the wrong place and they got it after two months. With the receptionist and I on the phone with insurance they explained how to submit and what my copay was. Once insurance was off the phone the receptionist stated “we don’t really care about that and we don’t call insurance companies “. They were paid over 30 days ago and they are no longer taking my calls.

I have been seeing Dr. Rao on a consistent basis for a few years now for managing my ADD. She is very patient, kind, and provides thoughtful recommendations and feedback each time I visit. Even the office assistants are sweet and I haven't had to wait in the waiting room for more than an hour at most. I would recommend her highly!

Dr Rao is aggressive in her approach towards her clients. She has the parent sit back behind child. Attempted to bring chair up to sit next to child and was told to sit in the back. It was uncomfortable for myself and my child. Attempted to reschedule an appointment. Receptionist was rude on phone and told me I made the appointment and needed to keep it. Told I was going to be charged $25 since we will be running out of medicine. We won’t be back. I am private pay - $150/hr.......??

I highly recommend Dr. Rao. Our 8 y.o. son sees Dr. Rao for ADHD and we are completely satisfied. Dr. Rao takes a caring approach and during a time when we were trying out new medications from short acting to long, Dr. Rao was extremely invested in his success, even calling after hours when we needed a different alternative. I cannot say enough about her compassion and how well she relates to our son. Dr. Rao's support staff as well goes above and beyond as well!!!

Would never recommend Dr Rao. Her latest thing—hired a student nurse to ask questions she should be asking beforehand, then has student sit in on session. Dr Rao gets very defensive if your child’s answer differs from her notes. She is poor listener and doesn’t understand enough about drug side effects. She schedules appts 10 minutes apart and makes you wait an hour. Once we waited 45 minutes because she didn’t know we were there. She cut another appt short since she had to a catch plane.

After a some years with another doctor, where I ultimately felt like a medication guinea pig, I found Dr. Rao to be far more effective. I have improved significantly, and with less medication. I believe Dr. Rao is a gem.

Yes, I would recommend Dr. Rao. Office staff is rude and uncivilized. They have absolutely no manners. When we first started going to Dr. Rao, approximately the middle of 2015, the front office staff was polite and courteous. The current staff is awful; from dealing with them on the phone to the subsequent visit (August 2017). If they aren't capable of appropriate conduct with patients they should find different jobs.

I would highly recommend Dr. Rao. She has been seeing our son for the past year and is able to communicate well with him. She is timely in her appointments, addresses any concerns we have and is always willing to follow up as to how he is doing. The office staff is extremely helpful and you never sit on hold when making appts. and they go out of their way if a form for school is needed.
