I'm almost relieved to see that others have had the same experience -- although I am sorry too. This man made me feel awful about myself and utterly lacked sympathy.

If I could give him zero stars, I would. I am filing an official complaint with the Florida Department of Health. I left feeling like he saw me as nothing more than a junkie. He refuses to refill medication that qualifies as controlled substances, even if multiple doctors have confirmed that it is necessary for their patient. This includes certain antidepressants, ADHD medication, etc. He went through my entire medical history only to tell me he would not refill my prescription. Cold, uncaring, unprofessional, and obviously has many biases against certain prescription drugs that he feels are unnecessary. He will tell you to take melatonin if you are depressed.

Absolutely awful psychiatrist. Forced to see him because the awesome psychiatrist (who finally solved my diagnosis and meds puzzle) I used to have moved away. COVID interrupted one of my meds (which is a controlled substance) and when I was finally able to schedule an appointment I was informed that she left :( So now I'm stuck with this idiot who really doesn't even care about his patients. He asked a ridiculous number of questions and then cut me off repeatedly as I tried to answer them. He literally wants to me to pay for a battery of stupid tests to prove I don't have a condition I have never even been suspected of having. Meanwhile, my academics suffer because he would rather waste my time instead of treating me. I wish I had another option but Tallahassee has a dearth of good psychiatrists. At this point I'm seriously contemplating my old psychiatrist and just driving to Gainesville to see her. That is how ridiculously awful this guy is. Avoid at all costs if you can.

Worst Experience I've had w/ a Pschyrtist. Please read the other past reviews of him b4 going, I wish I did. I had my first appt with him 2 days ago (Florida State University Health Services- FSU). After 30min of opening up and honestly spilling my mental history (which isn't easy). He lacked any sympathy and compassion, he was stubborn and hardheaded and rude in his delivery. He was quick to change a med that was working beside a minor & very common side effect (I now regret I mentioned to him). I kept having to defend keeping it bc it was really helping me. I just started it last month by my prior Dr and wanted to give it another month b4 changing. That's only 1 incident that happened. In the end, the room was tense & uncomfortable, he cut me off many times, I felt judged by him. I prob would have felt better talking to a robot. It takes more than just knowing medicine to be a psychiatrist you need an actual heart. I only came here only to warn others.

Absolutely awful. I have since received care from a much more qualified general practitioner, who has alleviated basically every issue that Dr. Mazumder only managed to exacerbate. Sometimes he would ask the same question twice within the first 5 minutes (aka not listening/paying attention to the answer you just gave him). Very laughable treatment. Quick to prescribe and clearly does not understand the needs of anyone under 70 years old.

Don't ever seek help from him. Too quick to prescribe treatment, doesn't fully listen to patients, just going to put you on a pill. Will involuntary hospitalize patients under the Baker Act if his first plan of treatment doesn't work, rather than trying to understand what his patients are experiencing. He'll just throw you into someone else's services rather than trying to help you
