Avoid This guy. This guy wanted to do surgery twice for a hernia which I highly doubted so that and feelings about his office , I went to another surgeon who confirmed there was no hernia, no need for surgery and this happened twice.

Horrible. Would not recommend. Scared my mother with phrases like bloodbath, and reported results on another doctors test inaccurately. Told she had a tumor when she did not. Gave her a cancer diagnosis with no additional information and then didn’t return for 3+ days to discuss it with her. Then on another occasion told her she should go into hospice when her diagnosis is both treatable and curable through treatment with her oncologist. I found him to be someone that likes to hear himself talk but certainly doesn’t provide solid diagnoses or request tests to backup his statements and/or diagnoses or lack thereof. He needs a hard lesson in bedside manner. I don’t care if you are the best surgeon in America. If you can’t relate to your patients or put them at ease during the most difficult time in their life you aren’t worth anything in my book.

After surgery Dr. Twena hardly saw me in the hospital to explain anything. When he discharged me he was insulting and made me wish that I had a different surgeon.

There is no other surgeon I would trust my life with a knife under anesthesia than Dr. Twena. He had operated on me twice already 2010 and 2019; both went very well. I even endured weeks of abdominal pain just so my insurance can change the referral letter to him from another surgeon, that's how good I believe he is. As a patient and as a nurse I stand on my statement that he is one of the best surgeons out there, because I have taken care of his patients too in the hospital. He is not the kind of sugar and spice everything nice doctor out there but a straight to the point kind of guy that a lot of people misinterpret as standoffish or rude. Still my respects and gratitude to him and his friendly staff for always giving me the best care always.

Scoundrel. In 2016 I went to TMC with torso spasms and this one was hot to remove my perfectly healthy gall bladder. He did not want to wait for test results. Never touched me or examined me yet in my medical record he made many false claims. I ran.

I drove 2 hours to try to get some competent healthcare because it is difficult in the small town I live in and it was one of the worse doctor/patient encounters I've ever had. Dr Twena was over 45 minutes late for my appointment, and I was 20 minutes early. I have been in pain for over a year now and Dr Twena literally spent about 1 minute with me. Told me to live with the pain and then ordered a CT scan to shut me up and get himself out of the room. Healthcare in America, is disgraceful.

He wants to cut on you! My wife was experiencing stomach problems and was in the hospital. Twena happened to be on duty and came into the room. He said that although the CT scan was unclear, he believed that her appendix would have to be removed or perhaps even her whole colon would have to be removed. He prepped her for surgery until he came back a few hours later and said that after looking at the scans with the radiologist again, it looked like the appendix and colon were not the problems.

I was treated like an idiot on the phones with staff. No one returned my calls and no calls to check on me after surgery. Minimal instructions. Staff sounds unfriendly and robotic. I felt as if I was to be shamed for even calling.
