Dr. Monica Parraga, MD

My husband was admitted to the ER at South Shore University Hospital. Dr parraga was assigned to him, but she never looked at him (only paperwork) and she never introduced herself. She didn't wear a i.d. badge, so we had no idea she was actually the Dr, so when we had some questions she became very defensive and rude. This is the first person you're interacting with in an ER. She needs some skills on how to deal with people. I can't give her any stars, there's 1 only because I had to

This woman was rude, dismissive, and demonstrated a complete lack of empathy. On top of that, she ordered the wrong tests, got angry and combative when questioned about it, and left an entire room of us speechless and in disbelief that anyone like this could even be in the medical profession. I'm still shocked.

My niece was having seizures. We brought her to forest hills Lij where they had to wait 4 hours just to hear that they cannot do anything because they doing have a pediatric ED. When the family inquired about their concerns she had a disgusting attitude. Also continuously telling the family “she does not understand” when they explain the symptoms the 1 month old has. Northwell needs to do something about this.

If you ever go to south side hospital for any reason and you get this doctor, immediately ask for another. She lacks empathy, she didn’t even examine me and my concerns. I’m 30 with half my body swelling and she sat me down in a chair and left me there for hours, forgot about me , told me she has no idea what she can even do for me in this er visit. Didn’t even bother listening to me or even recommend where I can go. Worst experience, she is the reason people are afraid to see a doctor because they get people like her who make you feel like a burden. Save your time and go to someone who cares. Don’t know why northwell bothers with a doctor like her, makes me never want to go there again.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone I cared about. She has ZERO empathy for her patients. I went in after a car accident and she did not even examine me and my neck. I overheard her ask her PA if "there was even a car accident." Completely unprofessional. I am horrified by her callous demeanor.

Terrible doctor. I am amazed she works for Northwell. She did not listen or communicate anything to me. I am forced to give a star, but she deserves nothing. Absolutely awful. If you go to Southside/South shore ER and she comes in, ask to see someone else.

Dr. Parraga- Marquez came into my daughter's ER room unhappy. My daughter had just been at Urgent Care and the doctor there is AMAZING! She is 16 years old and constantly sick. The doctor was lacking in detail, comfort and conviction. I can excuse an overworked or shy doctor but she did not exude that. Did not like a thing about her!
