Short and sweet, didn't explain my problem, didn't recommend treatment, couldn't make any money of of me, so cut the visit short.

Amazing man! Even better Doctor!
When I first went to see Dr. Gilotra for my shoulder and arm issue, I was unable to raise my left arm higher than my waist. He examined me and listened carefully to the situation, which a previous Dr. did not, and was dismissive. He stated openly and honestly, that at the initial visit, he wasn't sure what was going on, but he would find it and they would figure out a way to fix it. It turned out that it was a complication from a recent surgery that had killed two of the rotator cuff muscles because of a pinched nerve. He performed surgery and my shoulder is almost completely back to normal. I am able to swim, exercise, lift things from higher places, etc. His staff at the facility is also very nice. They treat the patients with the utmost respect and try to reassure that patients are aware of any delays and how to get everything accomplished in a timely manner.

EXCELLENT SURGEON! NONE BETTER!
"Dr G" was recommended to us by a friend who had experienced 2 rotator cuff surgeries that were total failures. Dr G was able to repair the previous surgeries abysmal outcomes & restore over 85% use of our friend's shoulder ! On our first meeting with him we immediately felt understood & encouraged by his professional assessment of the problem and the plan going forward. The shoulder healed & my husband feels we made the absolute BEST choice going with Dr. Gilotra. We have recommended him to friends & family who have had similar results. "Dr G" is extremely quiet & soft spoken, but don't let that fool you. His mind is going a million miles a minute planning the best approach. I have read all of the reviews & I honestly do not understand how anyone could have had a bad experience with this compassionate & caring surgeon. He is an outstanding surgeon and a caring and understanding human being. He will always be our FIRST CHOICE if either one of us need surgery in the future.

I went to see Dr. Gilotra a day after I severely fractured my collarbone snowboarding on the weekend. Part of my bone was protruding through my shoulder but did not break the skin. Dr. Gilotra advised me that it would “heal on its own” and after 6 weeks he would “reassess” if I needed surgery to repair my collarbone. Crazy as it sounds, I saw another orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion. This doctor told me that I would need surgery to repair my collarbone. After going through the surgery, the surgeon said that there was no way that my bone would have healed on its own. Going off of Dr. Gilotra’s recommendation, I would be sitting with a broken bone for 6 weeks and still require surgery. I am not qualified whatsoever to determine if I would need surgery, but based on the X-rays, to any sane person, you would think I needed surgery. If you want to wait weeks before knowing if you need surgery, and sit in pain for those weeks, then Dr. Gilotra is your guy.

I liked Gilotra, but his support staff sucks. After scheduling the surgery I couldn't get anyone to talk to me about money, the projected fees, and how much would be covered by insurance. I kept calling and calling and couldn't find anyone who knew. The people who knew didn't call me back. Eventually I had enough and decided to go with a different surgeon.

I am a current patient of Dr Gilotra. I had a massive rotator cuff tear. Since it was repaired the one at my shoulder tore and it sent horrific pain down my and the muscles went into a spasm so bad that I cried out in pain. I called Dr Gilotra the very next day and he NEVER got back to me! I had nothing for pain this entire time. Finally on April 8 he made a facetime call to me as it had been planned since the recheck of the original surgery. It was apparent he didn't even want to make the call. He had a young lady do most of the talking and it wasn't about my problem. Finally, he appeared and he didn't even look at me. He there with a snoot on his face and it was apparent he was angry. He then told me a bare face lie. He said, "you only have one shot at this" I asked him why and he said something like , "I split the muscle". Right a way he suggested I just get a shoulder replacement and we went through that when I first seen him. He knows I told him NO about that when I first seen hi

I was sent to him because he specializes in the type of rotator cuff repair I require . He spent a great deal of time with me. He explained how the procedure works, recovery, and things I had no idea about but great information to know. He was kind, reassuring , and has a calming nature about him.
