Lack of continuity of care or listening to patient
I had previously been a patient under his practice but under a different doctor since 2019. I attempted to make an appointment with that doctor but was told he was available. Upon meeting with him very briefly I explained what had been going on in relation to my existing diagnosis. Following up he showed that not only had he not listened per the documentation that was provided but things were made up. I reached back out to clarify and it was stated that he could see me again but I would have to pay again, after already paying out of pocket when I have insurance and he is in network. This time they even offered to take my insurance. There was a lack of continuity of care , clearly did not use notes from client files and just didn't seem to care as issue has still not been resolved and money was simply stolen by someone is supposed to care and advocate for mental health. He only adds to the problem.

No One Home
My psychiatrist recently retired and he gave me several local physicians for me to select from for continued care. I chose Dr. Ahmad mostly because he had offices both in Atlanta and closer to my home in Alpharetta. My prescription is usually filled without issue, but I have noticed that the lack of staff in this office makes it less predictable than I have become accustomed to. This past week made me realize how dangerous that can be. My prescription ran out on Friday so I called my pharmacy on Thursday to confirm they received the refill request. I learned it had not been refilled and immediately called Dr. Ahmad's office. I called again Friday and on Saturday with no return call or confirmation the prescription had been called in. Today (Monday) drove to their office after additional calls were unanswered and un-returned. They called in my prescription within 30 minutes after I left the office. Clearly they have too many patients and not enough staff. Time to find a new MD.

One star is a stretch! The wait in this office is terrible. Could be more than 2 hours. Their billing system is terrible. They require payment prior to the visit. But then continue to send invoices, after payment has been provided and proved repeatedly. They do not answer the phone. Service is terrible.

I am a current patient of this practice. Last week I ran out of my medication and all I need is a prescription refill. I've left several messages, sent an email, and even scheduled an appointment online. I have not heard anything back. I think they may have abandoned the business and their clients.

When consulting at Peachford Hospital, he needs to establish a trust with the patient. Don’t just say “what’s going on with you today”. I was having a frightening experience. Never had I been in a Behavioral Hospital. Didn’t know what to expect so I didn’t feel comfortable opening up to him because what I did say was misunderstood. Also felt rushed. Only one time did I have a long session. I had to pay coinsurance amount for 6 sessions which only one was a long session. The other sessions did not last 25 minutes each even though the bill stated that it did. Maybe they have a minimum charge. I would not recommend him as a hospital consultant. Unless you are an established patient of his, he doesn’t make a good “first” impression. I know this sounds harsh but mental health is very important. You need to feel heard and feel your doctor is giving you the best of his expertise. “Not just another product on a conveyor belt to move on down the line” and out.

Understands, listens and explains symptoms, and their impact and relationship to specific behavior. Constantly reviews progress reports and zeros in on any unusual or sudden changes.

Did not feel he was supportive nor had my best interest in mind. Rushed and prolonged my stay at Peachford Hospital which in and of itself was a complete nightmare that I still have nightmares about. I am still traumatized.

The wait was not long and since I provided my insurance info prior to the appointment everything went smoothly. My consultation wasn’t long and Dr. M. Ahmad listened carefully and attentively to what I had to say. I have had prior psychiatric treatment and was able to recall the medications I had previously which helped. Overall my experience was pleasant and uneventful.
