Poor medical physician
Dr. Abdelwahab does not feel comfortable with an opposing point of view especially when a sleep study is contraindicated for a special needs child. Dr. Abdelwahab insists to perform a sleep study on every patient. I told Dr. Abdelwahab that my child would not be able to tolerate a sleep study secondary to his autism status. Dr. Abdelwahab kept insisting on the sleep study even after I told Dr. Abdelwahab that my son has documented sleep apnea from a previous emergency room visit which my sons did desaturate with his oxygen levels. My son required oxygen in the emergency room. Dr. Abdelwahab walked out of the visit and the MUSC Department of Otolaryngology is refusing to perform the tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy that my son needs to correct his obstructive sleep apnea. I would not recommend MUSC Department of Otolaryngology to my worse enemy secondary to the departments refusal to help my disabled son.
