TOP notch MD and pleasant helpful staff.
IN a word, absolutely top notch, excellent doctor, and staff. Dr. Seidman's office took me within the hour on an emergency basis in the Park Slope office as I was experiencing eye pain. so I was ever so grateful. Office staff was very pleasant. Dr. Mitchell Seidman accurately diagnosed my eye pain..told me to apply warm compresses and told me in detail what my problem was and how the compresses would help. He performed a very thorough eye exam. The warm compresses are helping and I return to see him tomorrow. Dr. Seidman did not want to prescribe antibiotics until he knew I really needed them, which I appreciated. When I explained I had to come earlier than my appointment tomorrow, the office was extremely responsive.

Made an appointment for last month specifically to update my prescription for new contacts, and glasses. Office staff I made appointment with knew this, we were in frequent contact before the scheduled date because they had no idea what the appointment would cost me, couldn't even give me an estimate. Doctor refused, REFUSED, to update my contacts lenses prescription, even though I knew before coming in, and he could tell from the examination, that my near sightedness had worsened. He would not, I repeat, point blank, told me he would NOT give me an updated prescription. Not for a different brand or kind of lenses, and not for the brand and type I currently used. Even though he did so on my previous appointment. Absolutely preposterous. Claimed "they don't fit contact lenses". I could not see what that had to do with at least updating my prescription for my current lenses, and when I asked he just argued with me, repeated the same statements, was confrontational, and frankly hostile.

I have been going to Dr. Seidman for years. If you're looking for the best ophthalmologist in Brooklyn (or probably all of NYC) this is the doctor for you. He has seen me through cataract surgery and other issues, and I couldn't be in better hands. My family members have gone to him before me. Yes, the waiting time can be long, but in my opinion, he is worth the wait. Another thing I love about Dr. Seidman is that he doesn't over-diagnose or medicate. I highly recommend him.

I scheduled an appt with Dr. Seidman after a less than satisfactory experience with another opthamologist. Smart move on my behalf. He was very patient and thoroughly interested in how to treat my condition. I wish I had found him sooner instead of wasting my time with a subpar doctor. The only downfall was the wait. However, I'd rather wait a bit and see a physician that made me feel comfortable and cared for.
